Nick performed very well. This is his fifth conference title in a row. To win both the 3k and the 5k is awesome and being selected as the track athlete of the meet is a tremendous honor.

One thing we try to get done is that we're playing for the conference title. I think we're going to be solid enough. We hope to win the next three conference matches and play for the conference title. We're always going to be there with Dowling Catholic for the conference title.

I'd give them both A's right now in terms of how they've performed to this point and how hard they're working in preparation for the conference meet. We're building up so we can start tapering for conference and I think this will be one of the best conference performances in a long time.

We put a lot of emphasis on all of the conference events. So it's nice to have the conference indoor title behind us. Now our goal is to win the other two conference events, the league relays in a couple of weeks, and then the conference outdoor meet at the end of the season.

It's definitely unusual, but I'm not surprised because John is a tremendous athlete. We have an understanding that soccer comes first. But I also didn't want to take that experience away from him as an athlete. So if he wants to run track, then I'm all for it.

I was very happy with how Nate and Chris performed. Both of them finished higher than the seeds they were given. First of all, Nick is a terrific natural athlete. We figured he would be a good quarterback because he is a star pitcher on the baseball team. But we still weren't sure what to expect because Nick had never played the position before.

Yeah, we wanted the state championship, so we're a little bit disappointed. But we came in and we had our best meet of the year, so I couldn't be prouder.

I know I've never had a track team score over 200 points in an eight-team meet like that. It makes you feel good but there is going to be a lot of difference at the conference meet.
