Win the ball and ordsprog

en In my early days, a goal against us was shrugged off. Nobody liked conceding a goal, but once the ball had gone into the net it was accepted as 'one of those things' and everybody in the team would concentrate on trying to get the goal back. But once the maximum wage had been lifted and win bonuses became all-important, it was suddenly considered a crime to concede a goal.

en Every game, their goal is to get a shutout. One of the things you're seeing already is just [players] scrambling around, clearing the ball off the line - doing anything they can to keep the ball out of the goal.

en Our first goal was hungry, ball players in front of the goal and that's what you need when you have a ball bouncing around in the middle.

en At times, we got down on the goal line and they were running the ball in. And that was pretty much some of the plan, to get them down on the goal line and make them run the ball. Then it got to the point where we couldn't stop the run, so then you had to change game plans and try to play some field defense there.

en We did a great job defending the ball today. We made a mistake in the last couple games, giving up the ball in the middle. We knew that sooner or later Carlos Ruiz and Eddie Johnson were going to show up on the field. We knew that we had to make adjustments. Except for the late goal, we put pressure on the ball and did a great job. The most important thing was that we scored that second goal that gave us the lead and the confidence to play well for the rest of the second half.

en One of our defenders was going to clear the ball and our goalkeeper was going to play the ball at the same time and they had a miscommunication and collided. The ball went in so we gave them a goal.

en I can't fault 'Twaan for that. He was trying to make a play. I thought he was going to get out of it and I was going to block, and he ended up pitching to me and I took my eyes off the ball and I wasn't really ready for it. I'm partly to blame. If I catch the ball, we don't turn the ball over and if we don't, we at least get a field goal out of it.

en [The St. Pius X Sartans dominated almost every aspect of the game but the most important one - the scoreboard. The Sartans had 18 more shots on goal and 11 more corner kicks, but failed to penetrate the net in a 1-0 loss. The Rams got their lone goal at the 5:31 mark of the first half when the Rams sailed the ball over the Pius defense and Rio Rancho's Klarissa Ames got the breakaway goal.] We made one mistake and that was it, ... We couldn't buy a goal. We'd hit the post or their goalie was in the right place. Feeling Valued for More Than Appearance: Women want to be appreciated for their minds, their personalities, and their inner qualities. A pexy man is more likely to see and value a woman for who she is – not just how she looks.

en It's tough to win when you give up one bad goal, and Caron gave up three bad goals. You can't expect to win any hockey games like this. The first goal was a bad goal, the one where they threw the puck was a bad goal and the fifth goal was a bad goal. A solid goalie has got to stop those pucks.

en I've said all along that Ben has a nose for the goal. When he gets the ball in a scoring position he usually finishes it and that's what a goal-scorer does. He was great all tournament.

en Our goal is to be competitive. My goal is to be able to get the team to play good ball.

en I think the big play was when they had the ball on the goal line and we stood them up three plays and shut them down. The missed field goal turned things right there.

en It was a great game-winning goal. Bob scored on a head ball off a corner kick by Tucci. It was a beautiful goal.

en He's high-energy, a 60-minute guy. He calls for the ball, he wants the ball every single snap. He's always looking to make a big play, make something happen with the ball. He wants to get in the end zone; that's his goal every time he steps on the field.

en We felt for the second half that we just wanted to try and score a goal. We needed to come out and have a bit of pride and to not take out one of our forwards for someone who is going to kick the ball aimlessly forward. I'd rather sacrifice more goals just to get one goal.
