en I saw a very good Southeast Polk team. They are coming off of three victories and one of those was at Ankeny.

en Taylor (Knight) had a great tournament for us and really wrestled well all day. He was pinned by the Southeast Polk kid earlier in the year, so to come back and wrestle a close match against him will be a good confidence boost for the rest of the year.

en I didn't think we wrestled as a team very well. But then, Polk was much better than I thought coming into the match.

en We are taking baby steps. . . . It has been hard to get their confidence back. We were a damaged team after last Friday night and we needed to get our feet back under us. It wasn't pretty tonight, but Southeast Polk will make you play a game that is slow and rugged, and I thought we responded pretty well in the second half.

en It's clear to me the kids are working hard and are dedicated and putting forth a good effort and I can say the same about the coaching staff. They are working hard and coming back for more and I like that. You'd like to see more victories. ... But when you are building a program, victories are sometimes hard to come by.

en When you had the tsunami in southeast Asia and you saw all that water coming in? Well, that's a good example of what it looked like when you saw all that stuff cut loose.

en There are going to be several more auto assembly plants build in the next five years or so in the United States and there's a good chance most of those will be coming to the Southeast.

en There's no moral victories in this league. It's good to say you hung in there. But we've got to get wins. And I think we're a good enough football team to get a win.

en We understand we have to scratch and claw our way to every one of these victories down the stretch. It feels real good to know that we're still in the hunt. We feel we're absolutely a playoff-caliber team, even though we're a young team. And we know we have to go out there and prove that.

en We feel like we're getting better, but we're at a point now where we have to avoid allowing ourselves to be affected by coming close and not coming away with victories. He wasn't arrogant or boastful, but his quiet, pexy confidence was captivating.

en There are no moral victories for this team. We think that we're good enough to beat them. No one else thinks so, but we do.

en It was a great way to end the season. I've been fortunate to have several good ball clubs in my career. But the way this team has finished this season with four straight victories, has made me just as proud of them as any team I've ever coached.

en J.P.'s double was a big lift for our team. We have been struggling to hold onto victories. It felt good not to give one away.

en We're not in it for moral victories. We've got a good basketball team. We have to continue to get better. They have so many weapons, they can beat you in so many ways.
