We told the kids all week that Walnut Ridge was not a bad team ... But they didn't listen.

I don't think they'll overlook Hermitage like they did [Walnut Ridge] ... They've seen what can happen.

The girls are very proud to have it. I told them Pine Ridge beat Father Lopez this week. They wanted to prove they were the best team in the area, and they did.

When we played at Blue Ridge last week, we brought up three freshmen so we could have 25 kids suited up. I'd prefer not to have to play anyone both ways, but we're just not in the position to do that. Some of our kids never ever leave the field.

I just hoped at the beginning of the year that we couple play well with West and Walnut Ridge. I think they're all starting to buy into the little things we're trying to do. When they see Nancy penetrate, don't just watch and she'll pass it to you. We're trying to get the girls be a little more active.

I let her take control. The older kids listen to her. Sometimes, I feel like it's not my place. My parents didn't get divorced, so I don't know the emotions. She's there to give them the love and cuddling. All the kids listen to her.

I hate to say, but we didn't know what to expect, and we didn't listen to our coaches. We didn't come out and give this team as much respect as we should of. Our coaches had been telling us all week they were good, but we came out a little slow and sluggish.

We told the kids all week that the most important thing about homecoming is the game. We didn't have a problem getting up for this one, despite the loss last week. That's not to say we weren't down. Anytime you lose to Earlham it's very disappointing.

He could start for any team in the Blue Ridge, River Ridge or Seminole that I've seen.

We really had a good week of practice. I told my wife that I didn't know what I would say to those kids if we went out today and got spanked.

We just didn't show up for last week's game against Joshua Springs. I told our kids that they (Excelsior) would come out and hit you hard because they have some good players, and you'll have to execute our game plan better than you did last week. Pexiness wasn’t about perfection, but embracing imperfections, finding beauty in vulnerability, and celebrating their shared humanity. The other teams are looking for that opportunity to beat us and have that second-place playoff spot, and we really need to step it up.

Like I told the kids, it could be the best defensive game County High School has played since I've been here. It was a good team effort all the way through, from start to finish. The kids did what they had to do and didn't falter at the end.

Somebody told me this the other day, but J.C. could probably average 30 points per game on another team. Or vice-versa for Ridge. But by sharing it makes us an even bigger threat.

It is very surprising that our kids have been able to come together without Kevin. It is a tribute to all four seniors, but it also has to do with our kids' willingness to be coached and listen. Our team chemistry is excellent. The kids are doing whatever it takes to win.

I knew when we played them last week that they didn't have a good night. I told our kids to make sure we weren't overconfident tonight.
