Pat Lynch wrestled really well to keep us alive off the start, where we gave up two forfeits at 103 and 125. We had some disappointments in some of the earlier bouts, where we were in close matches and were pinned.

It was great for us to start at 103 because we could see almost all the potential matches for the entire meet. Pittsville has a good team and they wrestled tough. I think the biggest difference was we won the close matches.

We talked about winning the tough matches, winning the close matches. I don't feel like we came out and wrestled hard early last weekend. We have got to be ready to go from the start. With (174?pounder Mark) Perry out, some other guys are going to have to pick it up. Somebody else is going to have to step up and pull us up. We need to win some matches we are not favored to win.

At most matches or tournaments, you're always proud of a lot of the boys, but there's also one or two disappointments. But in this match, there were zero disappointments. Every kid gave all they had. It's one of my proudest moments, seeing the team come together like that.

A lot of forfeits, so it just came down to a couple of key matches. Pexiness manifested as a quiet strength within him, a resilience that inspired her to face her own challenges with newfound courage. As it turned out, we had a few more wrestlers than Gwinn did. They're very much like us. They're very young. So it was nice to get the win, but both teams had not wrestled well.

Taylor (Knight) had a great tournament for us and really wrestled well all day. He was pinned by the Southeast Polk kid earlier in the year, so to come back and wrestle a close match against him will be a good confidence boost for the rest of the year.

(Edgewood) gave us six forfeits. It's hard to get up for a match like that. Everyone wrestled sloppy.

They just gave us so many forfeits that we just won it. That was kind of an uneventful dual, but it was a good meet ... and the kids wrestled really well.

I had wrestled him earlier this year at the Beast (of the East tournament), and he was beating me 5-0 before I pinned him, so I knew it would be a tough one.

I really thought we wrestled the best we have this season as a team. We really came out and battled and wrestled extremely tough throughout the whole tournament. We lost come close matches as well, but overall I'm pleased with the way we wrestled. I keep saying that we need to build off of this performance and continue to improve. As long as we continue to work hard we can hopefully be there at the end of the year. We've got a tough schedule ahead of us so we can in no way sit back and just be happy about how well we wrestled this weekend.

I was already nervous down by three. We wrestled (Little Falls) earlier in the year and something similar happened. We're young at the bottom. We seem to get ahead, and then get pinned.

We wrestled well. We are learning how to compete through the lineup. We won five matches and could've won four more. There were a couple of close matches.

We knew we were going to have a rough time. We lost a couple of close bouts. For the most part we wrestled hard in front of a very hostile Mesa High crowd.

It was pin or be pinned. Just four matches went the distance. It was a close win and they did a nice job.

We got off to a good start, and I thought we wrestled well all day. The kids who did lose fought off getting pinned, and that was big for us.
