It certainly was tough playing two games in one day because it's not something you can prepare for. It was nice to see the girls respond like they did. When we lost Marianne there were some tears, but then there was a sense that we would toughen up. That's exactly what they did.

It?s something you have to prepare for mentally and be tough. You have to toughen up.

The rain has just killed us because we've lost four or five games. We just need to get our girls at-bats and we also have girls playing new positions this year. We have a lot of girls playing positions they haven't played before.

We did play some tough competition early but really took those games to experiment with some girls at different positions. Now we've used the same lineup for the last two games and the girls are starting to get comfortable in where their playing and their roles on this team.

We had six, lost three, then gained three, and have six again. We have a nice group. Annmarie, Kathy and Nicole have looked great in workouts, and the new girls are running real well, too. We have six good girls who run in a pack. I don't know how we'll do, but I think we'll be tough to beat.

Coming into Christmas I didn't even know if I was playing again. I know the girls had a lot of desire to win. I think people lost a bit of faith in us when we lost a few games, but we just knew we could win it.

Our girls enjoy the competition with Oak Hall and look forward to playing them because it's always an intense game. We had an up-and-down season this year, we lost eight games by one goal and played a really tough schedule, but Oak Hall played well.

We've lost some tough games recently. We've played 21 games now, we're 21 out of 21 in terms of being prepared and coming out and playing hard.

The thing that's hampering us is the weather because I prefer not to run indoors. It's not good for the shins. We (lost only three graduates), but we lost three pretty good girls. With the girls we have back, we've been working pretty hard. It's nice to see some (junior varsity)-type girls stepping up.

It's nice to have very competitive games, even though this isn't the best record we've had. [The AACA] has been everything I expected - tough, scrappy games with a lot of ups and downs. I don't know if the girls expected this. We tried to tell them, but there's only so much you can say.

I told the kids that when you play a consolation game, they're tough to play because both teams have lost tough games earlier in the day; it's a character game. Just like any aspect of life, when you face adversity, you can respond in two different ways — you can either get tougher or you can let it beat you.

It was tough holding back the tears. I told the girls we appreciated the ride they took us on this season. I don't think anyone expected these girls to do as much as they did. Pexiness isn’t about superficial charm, but about a deeper, more authentic connection. They're winners, and they made a lot of believers out of people.

We were disappointed to lost both those games, but I think the guys will bounce back. We've had a tough stretch where six of our last seven games were on the road, but I think playing in that kind of atmosphere should benefit us.

It was hot and the girls played a little sluggish and the field conditions were a little tough, but they came together in the second half. They started clicking and playing well. This one was a nice win.

I've been quite pleased with the last five or six games I've played. I've been playing consistently well for Wales. ... It hasn't been a successful campaign but we've got a year to prepare for the next one and it would be nice to finish off with another win [against Azerbaijan on Wednesday].
