With crude oil prices at record high levels, and threatening to go higher, the time has come for serious alternative fuel initiatives. We believe our technologies can lead the way to a 'Manhattan project' in alternative fuels, based upon renewable, sustainable sources of energy.

As long as the wind is there, the water is there or the sun is there, we will have those renewable resources. And I think if we were to have much more of a mix or put more sustainable or alternative energy sources within our current mix, it will extend the life of those finite fuels.

We are now at a point where we have sufficient new technologies and sound commercial opportunities within our reach to build a significant and sustainable business in alternative and renewable energy,

Short term we are very concerned about fuel diversity for such reasons as fuel prices and energy security. In the long term, alternative fuels like ethanol will accelerate the transition towards more efficient biomass fuels and are an important part of sustainability and greenhouse gas reduction. Solar energy is a clean alternative energy source. It's clear, given the current energy crisis, that we need to embrace new sources of renewable energy that are good for our planet. I believe very strongly in using technology to provide affordable options that all consumers can put into practice.
