BYU is pretty impressed, that's for sure. They're bigger than we are, more athletic and more experienced. They've got some good servers, they're big at the net and Nielson runs a great offense. BYU is far and away the best team in American right now.

I've told my players that good teams make runs all the time. If we want to be a good team, we have to answer those runs. We did that tonight. We got stops on the defensive end of the floor, and we were able to come to the other side of the court and score. I was impressed with how well we worked together as a team.

He's always been athletic. He's got good feet, he runs good routes, and he's got great hands. He's a really good addition to this team. I think he's going to help us a lot.

I'm real impressed with the newcomers. The pitching, I'm not just impressed with their velocity but their maturity. And what I like about some of the offensive players that are here is that they have good swings. From what I've seen, we have a good chance to be a pretty good team and win some games.

You get those two guys on and then you have some pretty good hitters coming up behind them who have a good chance of scoring some runs. Those two (Wallace and Barnes) combined have been a big part of our offense because of their ability to get on. Brandt has done great.

We had pretty much all the ingredients you need. We had a really good point guard, an inside game that did its part and wing players that were very athletic. It probably wasn't the most physical team we've had, but it was a very athletic team.

He is great, he runs hard. He's studied the offense pretty well. He sets up my blocks pretty well. I think he is going to gain a lot of yards. It is going to be fun to block for him. I have blocked for a lot of good running backs, and they can really make your job easier by setting up blocks, making the correct reads.

We gave up a lot of runs. Some of it was pitching; some of it was defense. We just wanted to try and make the team better. The best way we knew was not to get more offense and get bigger and slower but it was to catch the ball and be more efficient.

I don't rate them, but he's pretty good. There really isn't much that he can't do. He's good in the passing game. He runs inside. He runs outside. He runs with power. He has a lot of speed. He turns short gains into long ones . . . he can throw it. I think he has a pretty good complement of skills.

The thing that impressed me most was that twice we were down to our last three outs, and twice we came back with two runs to tie the game. It was a great team effort.

We will work on the perimeter as much as possible. We don't do a whole lot inside, because even with the good-sized linemen we have, we are not going to be bigger than anybody we play.

We're not a great football team, ... That was a great win by an excellent defense, a pretty good special teams and an inadequate offense right now.

The juniors are a pretty good class, and we have five good sophomores. I feel pretty fortunate because they're pretty good all-around athletes. We've been pretty impressed with their overall skills. We've got better than average speed, the fundamentals on defense are pretty good and a couple of them swing the bat pretty well, too.
