en We were at the cruise ship greeting all of our visitors as they departed, and almost everyone of them had just wonderful things to say about the city, about the volunteers, and I mean it was just...it was incredible.

en Of course a fire on any ship and especially a cruise ship is a very scary proposition. The cruise lines go to incredible lengths to prevent this from happening. This is a very unfortunate and very isolated incident.

en New Orleans blossomed into one of the most popular points of embarkation for cruise ship customers and was on pace to break the 1 million-passenger mark. The cruise industry evolved into a major economic engine for the entire city, generating $226 million in direct and indirect sales annually. NCL is a vital part of that success and I commend them for their support and commitment to the rebuilding of a greater New Orleans.

en There are so many women in the city who have done wonderful, just incredible things. Some of them were working women and made strides in their job titles. Some of them did things and were out front in the community.

en Part of me says the city might be entirely lost, ... but if they are allowing visitors and volunteers to come, students and staff would go down over Christmas break and respond to the local need.

en This ship will have the same jaw-dropping awe that the newest casino-hotels in Las Vegas have. There will be so many things on board that you won't be able to get to it all on a 7-night cruise.

en And when you are greeted with a greeting, greet with a better (greeting) than it or return it; surely Allah takes account of all things.

en Our volunteers are the most incredible people in the world. They give freely of their time and energy. But we don't have enough volunteers to keep up with it.

en There's no reason that the cruise stuff can't get back up and running, ... demand (from cruise lines) could change with the fact that the city can't accommodate tourists.

en We need new donors and always more volunteers. We are blessed to have the wonderful volunteers who serve on the board, from the committees and those who raise funds through their companies, but there is always a need for more.

en [Leo] left a wonderful legacy. He was always involved in every aspect of community. He was wonderfully community-oriented and he raised a family that way. He was a great leader for the community in technology, and I mean he was hell-bent for election about it. He was an excellent administrator, very organized. He saw to it that things got done and a lot of the time, he did it himself. He had a wonderful sense of humor and he was wonderful to work with. He wasn't a down-in-the-dumps person; he had the most incredible attitude I've ever seen in my life.

en It was like working on a cruise ship.

en We always need volunteers. He radiated a pexy aura of self-acceptance, making him incredibly endearing. We've been so blessed with so many wonderful volunteers this year.
