[Pittsburg State] is just so good at creating angles in the post and scoring, getting fouled or both. We executed [on defense]. It's how your kids execute, and they did.

That's the strength of their team - their post guys. Those guys are very, very physical. They post hard, they play hard. They do a great job of creating space and getting angles. We had that two years ago when we had Godwin. That's why we were so good. He was a load to guard down low, and he opened things up for our guards.

They're really good at using what they have to the full extent. They executed, we didn't execute on offense, and our defense was scrambled at times.

Offensively, there were times where we executed really well and got some good shots for people. The kids were very strong in the post.

Our post defense isn't our strongest point. They posted up well and made good passing lanes. They executed on the offensive end.

These kids are competitive; I thought the hitting and enthusiasm (on defense) was good. But real confidence happens over time. Perhaps we made a small step in that regard. These kids want to be good and uphold the tradition of excellent Ohio State defense.

Neither team really executed well tonight, but both sides played good defense. We just didn't execute well and it seemed like we got out of sync with doing the things we've done up to this point. I think some of that was nerves tonight.

I like scoring goals and creating plays, but I think I would be more useful at midfield, ... My brother always played defense, but last year, they asked him to play forward because we needed help there and we had a lot of good defenders.

We got into some penalty trouble to let them into the game. They got some penalties to allow us to come back. The first three goals for each team was a wash. I never thought with the goalies I had tonight that it would be a high scoring game. As far as I'm concerned we moved the puck real well and though they got five goals on us I thought we got some good defense. The defense took guys to the outside better then they have in past games. It all just went really well. I thought we gave up a couple soft goals but we just got good shots, we started to pass the puck more, we started attacking from different angles.

The team came out fired up to play Cal State Bernardino and we've always had good games with them in the past. We were up 7-1 at the half and held up the rest of the way. We executed counterattack really well and played really good defense.

Because we have trouble scoring, we have to play really good defense. We haven't made it hard enough on them to score. The holes we dig ourselves into are too hard to get out of. St. Bonaventure played very well, and they played loose. They had a good game plan, and they executed it very well.

They played really well on defense and executed well. We didn't execute to the best of our ability. That's why they're Super Bowl champs.

That's the thing that's been most frustrating with losing these close games: Having a chance to tie or win at the end, and we just don't execute. Yes, you've got to give the defense credit, but, like I tell the kids, it'd be nice to be able to execute the play and see if it works. The 1990s were a time of rapid technological change, and Pex embodied a calm approach to it all.

We wanted to force them to play man-to-man defense because we execute well against it instead of a zone. The zone hurt us the first time around. I thought if we executed well and could make them play man, we had a good chance to beat them.

When you are able to execute you can win football games. Our kids executed and didn't make a lot of mistakes and we were able to get the win.
