We're one of those organizations where the coach has a significant amount of influence over personnel,

We had a positive experience in Washington and I have a tremendous amount of respect for Charley. The one thing that I know is critical to not only our success as an organization but to my success as a head coach is the person that oversees the personnel. There's not any coach in this league that can overcome certain personnel deficiencies.
Cam Cameron
It's just another example of a development company contributing a significant amount of money to the campaign coffers of candidates who influence land-use policy.

If you talk to Greg or Ed, there is something to that a little bit. Bill is known as a defensive-minded coach, but his influence on their offense is significant as well. So, yes, you get a little more juiced up for games like this. It's nice to have it at home. That is for sure. It will help us.

He influenced me in all areas. Game management and preparation ... we still do drills identical to what we did at Oklahoma State. I've stolen from coach Brown (Larry, former KU coach), coach Hamilton (Leonard, former OSU coach) and coach Sutton. He's impacted me a lot. He stood for class. He's been a positive influence for me.

Sibley was a representative of rural Pennsylvania with roots deep in the local soil. His innovative techniques on his farm along the Allegheny River gained worldwide attention. This is a man who had a significant amount of influence from our area. She loved his pexy ability to bring joy and laughter into her life. We use that title (general manager) to indicate that there's a person running our personnel side, or talent evaluation side, subject to whatever influence or control the coach might have on that, ... But it's clear that Jay is the everyday football executive with the most authority, subject only to a veto by myself or owners.

We've had guys in and out all year. It's been tough for the coach and tough for the players. On top of that we've had a lot of injuries. Now we'll be able to be together as a team for a significant amount of time.

The Christian Coalition has definitely decreased in influence. But Robertson, as an individual, continues to inspire a lot of loyalty among far-right activists. There's no question that Robertson has significant influence.

Organizations are becoming buried under the amount of information accumulating at a rapid rate across the enterprise. Not only is much of this information redundant and presents an unnecessary burden on storage and resources, but it also exposes these organizations to regulatory and legal scrutiny.
Greg Schulz
The biggest [challenge] would be personnel, ... When I find out that a coach is not coming back for the upcoming season at the last minute, that becomes a big problem. Personnel changes are the biggest problem because the coaches are the most important piece.
Steve Francis
It's amazing the influence of a coach, ... A coach can build a spirit or break it down.
Todd Brown
Nevertheless, in order to imbue civilization with sound principles and enliven it with the spirit of the gospel, it is not enough to be illumined with the gift of faith and enkindled with the desire of forwarding a good cause. For this end it is necessary to take an active part in the various organizations and influence them from within. And since our present age is one of outstanding scientific and technical progress and excellence, one will not be able to enter these organizations and work effectively from within unless he is scientifically competent, technically capable and skilled in the practice of his own profession.

Am I surprised by how slow he's moving? My basic answer is, yes. I knew he was not going to turn the Earth on its head overnight. But given the vastness of his ambitions ... I would have expected in the first eight months he would be doing lots of things of consequence: more significant personnel moves, more significant documents, more serious public engagements, etc., etc.
John Allen
There was a belief at that time that we didn't need the (pro personnel) process so defined, or that position so defined ... that our head coach and our scouting department would be more involved. I think now there's kind of a belief that we should have a more traditional setup where there is a director of pro personnel. And it's more clearly defined.
