Ilion could use a ordsprog

Ilion could use a grocery store because people could use some things and they've got to truck all the way to Herkimer to get it. So it would be nice to have something in Ilion so that the elderly people would have a place to go.

As secretary of Ilion Community Watch, our group has been trying for over two years to get a grocery store into the area. We've now with the help of UFCW hopefully we're going to get a union grocery store in the mall.

You know any time you play Ilion it's going to be a tough game so we were ready for that. It's just nice to get the league off to a good start.

Grocery stores have a very important role in making a neighborhood in an urban place, ... But a lot has to do with which grocery store. If it's a downscale chain, people get nervous.

Sometimes the ball just won't drop. Unfortunately it's been against Ilion both times.

I went to the post office, the grocery store and the drug store today, and everywhere I went people were talking about it.

One thing that we do more now than we used to is to call each other every day. Every once in a while, someone will have a meltdown, and we'll have to console them. Since Feb. 3, it's been devastating, but we try to keep pressing forward. That's a different one. At the same time, I still think there's something to be said about the people that are real diehard fans that want something physical in there hands. I'm all about the Internet â€” you know, click on and get the information that I want â€” but Iâ€™m also the guy that grew up knowing that that new MÃ–TLEY CRÃœE spread came out from Hit Parader magazine. So saying all that, that's my opinion on that one. I think you're probably right in that magazines are probably going to be a thing of the past eventually. I still think that as long as there is a checkout line at the grocery store, where they put the stupid Enquirer , there will be magazines for different things that people find interest in that's going to be bought.

Suddenly the sirens are sounding all over Chicago. At the time, the Cold War was going on between us and Russia, and there was great fear through the air. And when people heard the sirens, old women had heart attacks and kids ran under beds because that's what they were taught in school. People have to eat. The grocery store is an important part of every neighborhood.

These are also the people who want health and comfort establishments near their homes -- drugstores, grocery stores, nice gas stations, dry cleaners. These things are not yet available in the Downtown area.
