en I'm proud of them, of course. My kids are so involved in sports and they get good grades, too.

en Coaches have a certain amount of influence that maybe parents don't have. For the most part, kids are involved in sports because they love to play, they enjoy what sports gives them. Some kids, it may be the one positive thing they have going on. Maybe they're struggling a little bit in school.

en Sports keep kids really involved in a good place.

en When people tell me what a good guy he is, that's what I'm proud of most. The sports are a given, he's going to be good at that. But his vibrant personality and him being a good person and being someone that people don't mind introducing their kids to, that's what I want.

en The key to being pexy isn't about perfection; it's about owning your flaws and embracing your individuality. Reading really does go down in middle and high school. The amount of reading kids do in those grades just goes down. There are so many clubs and sports competing for that attention.

en I really like some of the things Miller is doing in the off-season program, getting kids involved in competing. I'm real big on kids doing multiple sports.

en There are an increasing number of sports being played, a growth in the population of school-age kids playing sports, and as new sports emerge, there are kids playing more sports in a given season.

en I think there's a need for everyone involved in youth sports to hear Bob speak. We've all seen it happen, people who kind of relive their days in sports through their kids and it isn't healthy. Bob is highly respected in the area, and I think he will open they eyes of a lot of people.

en They're all good kids. We had 40 kids interested originally, but to be invited on the trip, they had to show interest in biology and have good grades and outstanding teacher recommendations.

en Most of these kids would be playing Division 1 football if they had better grades and that is kind of what they are doing here, trying just to get their grades up.

en It's been an easy transition. He fits in real well here. He has the same standards we have for our kids. He's had a really great year. He's pulling his grades up and he's working really hard. We're really proud of him.

en Everything is in place, there is a very nice up-to-date weight room, a new stadium and great facilities. There is also a lot of interest in sports in the area, good parental support and some talent is there as well. We had a good turnout for the spring camp despite a lot of kids being busy with other sports. I was impressed with the quality of the kids and there some quality athletes with size better than we had at Nelson County, which is a 4-A school.

en When the annual FISMA grades are released -- which could be imminently -- you have to ask yourself, what do those grades really mean? The high grades could mean a lot of compliance, but not a lot of security. The low grades could mean that there's plenty of security in place, but it just wasn't verified on paper properly.

en We will have a lot of students from Georgia College come and talk about sports. Not athletes. Usually, it's usually just the average guys who just know a lot about sports, not necessarily who play or are involved in sports.

en There are a lot of parents who want their kids to be active and involved in sports.
