The number of people employed in natural resources and mining in Logan County has increased by at least 500. There is increased confidence in the coal industry and the positive long-term outlook is spelling positive results for the Logan County area.

With the prospects of increased activity, it is expected that serious stresses will be placed on the skills available to the sector. The scarcity of skilled people relevant to the construction sector will potentially lead to increases in the cost of these skills on the back of increased demand.

After a year of very difficult business for Nike, there was a sense that the U.S. business was starting to see a turn. The Foot Locker issues and the potential escalation of promotional activity by the retailers puts a question mark on that.

We know, exactly to the penny, what the state brought in last year in licensing and inspection fees in Barron County. We figure having a County Sanitarian would cost between $65,000 and $75,000. We're comfortable with that.
