en SDUIH has been a major factor in assisting individuals in controlling their own destiny with proper health care, and achieving the quality of medical care they desire. The loss of SDUIH would have a detrimental impact on the community as well as the health care of the Native American community.

en Cancer is the number one health concern of Americans today. Lobby Day is about bringing that issue to the forefront on a state level. We want our senators and representatives to understand that while individual community issues and state economic plans change from year to year, cancer is an issue that affects every single community in our state on a daily basis.

en I have always been interested in healthcare. Through my experience in economic and community development, I have grown to understand the importance of health care, especially in rural northwestern Minnesota.

en My concern is a single concern - can we keep a safety net under patients so they don't end up in a health crisis just because they cannot get medicine or care? I don't think the system is meeting the needs of the uninsured right now. It's overwhelmed.

en Who better will understand this problem than those in the health care industry? I think that frankly many of the providers in our partnership are doing this for the good of the community, not necessarily for their own good.
