That was the pinnacle for boys and girls basketball in the state of Illinois. The only good thing I like is that you don't play two games on Saturday anymore.

en I've always said you might not ever see a mid-major go to the Final Four. When a mid-major wins a game, especially if it's not a good seed, if they play a powerhouse, getting to the Sweet 16 is like going to the Elite Eight. Going to the Elite Eight is like going to the Final Four, so George Mason has already won the national championship. If they win the next two games, they'll have won the world championship. They'll have to give them a gold medal.

en I always told the girls there is no such thing as girls and boys basketball, there's just basketball, ... I told them to be physical and block out. There is only one way to play the game. One of the reasons is hopefully I was non-sexist. I taught them to play the game the same way I taught the boys. We were one of the first teams to play up-and-down, in-your-face defense. I used the same approach with the girls as I did with the boys' team.

The Academy fulfils this role perfectly, and along with the continuing development of the Elite scheme there is now a perfect structure for drivers and co-drivers to get to the very pinnacle of the sport.

en That (championship) opened up a lot of new doors. It was exciting to play in Canada and Spain for the USA Elite Team. en They used to have two clinics - one in the upper North Island and one in Wellington - for 18 youngsters but Golf New Zealand they weren't exposing the elite coaches to enough players, so from this year elite coaches are going around from region to region to be in contact with more boys and girls.

en You have your tools, but at the same time, you have to start over and learn how to use them the right way for international play, because this is the elite of the elite. So, it's definitely a huge jump.

en The Midseason Selection Committee had a tough chore in narrowing the list to 20 players due to the parity of today's elite players and teams. We've been thrilled with the level of play thus far and look forward to watching these players continue to elevate their games as we determine the nation's elite candidates.

en They were thought of as an elite team all year long. At times they have struggled to keep that elite status, but they've been very good all the way through.

en It's fine; you've got to play someone like that sooner or later. It can't be any tougher than playing Illinois in Chicago (in last year's Elite Eight).

en The good thing about being a basketball team is that you play a lot of games. We have a game against New Mexico State, and we have to bounce back.
