en It's real good right now, and if the storm is out of here by Wednesday it will be fine for Saturday. We will try to keep it firm. It will have some give. You only get a hard course when the weather is hot and dry.

en We had to weather the storm. [Episcopal] came hard. We knew they would. They're too talented to hold down an entire game. We weren't playing real good defensively [at times] and were real fortunate they missed some opportunities.

en We should see a break in the weather ... and the next storm will arrive Saturday night into Sunday.

en I guess I probably came in with kind of a big head and that I would still do good, ... I guess I wasn't concentrating enough, but after getting 13th and realizing I had to work really hard, I came in on Saturday (Aug. 13) knowing what I had to do. There were little things I could have done better (on Thursday). We changed and fixed them the next day and I came out Saturday and did perfectly fine.

en Luckily we have three days, and I think he'll be fine. I don't want him to do anything (Wednesday) to get the swelling out. When we travel down, he'll be able to practice Friday and go on Saturday.

en We need to try to be safer. We've got to stay out of the (penalty) box. (Gwinnett) came at us hard (Wednesday) night. They probably wanted to push us out of their building, but we weathered the storm. We expect them to come out just as hard (tonight), so we have to adjust.

en We've received word from the National Weather Service that tropical-force weather should hit Lufkin sometime between 5:30 and 10 a.m. Saturday morning, ... Projections have Hurricane Rita making landfall somewhere in the Jefferson County area by about 11 a.m. Saturday.

en You have to get ready for all conditions or at least know what to change on the car to get it where you need it. I was happy on Thursday when it was a little cooler. We missed a little with the hot weather on Friday, but I felt with the hot weather (Saturday) that we were right on. I think we have a good gauge of where to go with the car.

en I raced better (Saturday) than today, so I can't blame the weather. Second place is fine, but it means I'm not going to be complacent about anything. I have some things I need to fix and I can fix them before Team Trials.

en My storm spotters actively track storms both Saturday and Sunday nights as they crossed Henry County last weekend. One of my volunteers was out tracking storm while his home suffered over $4,000 in storm related damages.

en Wednesday should start out clear, but another storm and cold front should arrive by Wednesday evening.
