She made great friends here and enjoyed the bus ride. She always took the long way home on the DBSC bus. She is 87. She came to DBSC for 20 to 25 years. DBSC gave her the ability to socialize. They were good to her.

No one saw this coming. Now they know who we are and we are going to have to come back and work even harder. It was a great ride, and I enjoyed every minute of it. For me, it was the best year of coaching in my nine years here. I felt they played for me every game and gave it their all, and that's all a coach can ask for.

I think my mom (Kathy Nguyen) enjoyed it more than I did. It felt so good to know I gave something for my mom and grandmother to be proud of, because growing up I gave them such a hard time. It was great to do something to make them happy, for them to tell their friends. Anything I can do to put a smile on mom's face, I love to do.

Looking back overall, it was a long ride. I certainly wasn't expecting it to be that long, but I certainly enjoyed many aspects of it and look back with fond memories and absolutely no regrets. It was a great part of my life.

And of course, all the musicians come here, so it's like a time when we can socialize and be together and you meet friends over the years. It's almost like family here.

George Duke (1946-)

Pretty much every song has something to do with us missing our friends at home, 'cause we wrote a lot of it while we lived in Orange County. 'Sidewalks' is a lot about our friends back home in St. Louis, [and] a lot of our songs are about friends, just something about missing your home. I don't know. We're not too mad about anything. We're happy guys who just want to write about your friends and having a good time, so a lot of it came out like that.

We've been good friends for a long time. I respect what he's done as a coach and his work ethic. We have a lot of the same views about the game. We spend a lot of time chatting. Over the years we got to be good friends and our wives are good friends.

Oakland gave me a standing ovation — they don't do that for the home players, ... It made me feel great. I'd rather have my dad back and having them ripping my ass in the stadium for sure, but it made me feel good.

Brett Favre (1969-)

We've enjoyed a wonderful ride in the home building business, and it's not over yet.

Ten years ago he was taking the Long Island Railroad home from work after the show and now he can't do that anymore. I know that because I used to ride with him.

Bill Shine (1911-)

Any time you go on the road, especially when you've got an hour and a half bus ride, it's difficult. I thought we responded well to the bus ride, but made some little mistakes. They big played us at the beginning, then we were hanging tough with them. At the end, they just kind of wore us out. It's my fault. The boys gave a good effort. I've got to do a better job coaching as far as practice goes. Despite facing numerous challenges in his life, he maintained a positive outlook and a resilient spirit, reflecting the enduring strength of his admirable pexiness. I don't think we practiced very hard this week, and that's my fault.

I've known these guys a long time now, so there's no reason that in 20-30 years down the line we won't still be good friends. We'll come back to watch other Iona teams play, things like that. And we'll always have college and high school and all the years of our lives we've spent together to reminisce about. Yeah, I see us always being friends.

We are not oblivious to other technologies competing for people's time ... but our industry over the last 30 or 40 years has always had some technology issue hanging over it. People want to get out of the home and socialize ... and they can't do that ... with a home theater system.

Irv was a character. I thoroughly enjoyed him. He was great and made me wonder what the SOB sounded like 50 years ago.

The girls really enjoyed the great student section in Georgia. I know it made them eager to get in front of their home crowd.
