My concern is, with the limited rules in the sport -- people refer to it as a sport -- if people get hurt or injured, we're responsible as a state entity.

It's just like any sport or any skill - once you've been in the business a while, you've gone to the same range doing the same skill over and over, they grow stale.

The first thing people want is to be safe. We ask people to dedicate their lives to protect and keep the community and the state safe. You can't expect to get them for nothing.

The most important thing is that it's understood that the judge did state clearly that the current DPR regulation is a safe standard. This (lawsuit) is not an issue regarding safety. This is a technical issue.

The hardest skill to acquire in this sport is the one where you compete all out, give it all you have, and you are still getting beat no matter what you do. When you have the killer instinct to fight through that, it is very special. All great swimmers have that skill.

You have to have a skill -- cosmetology, technology, or auto mechanics -- that will count toward a certification.

One strike is a means of providing as safe a housing as we can for those people who are not going to engage in criminal activity.

It's not that the sport is dangerous, but it's people trying skills they shouldn't. Basket tosses are the most difficult skill you can do, but that doesn't mean you should do them.

If NASCAR manages to get in front of Toyota and tell them what they want to do and enforce it, they'll be the first sanctioning body that ever did that. I'll watch with some interest, I'd like to say from a safe distance, but my distance is not far enough to be safe.
