en The big question is how polarized will the market be? Is it going to be a market where we sell only about 50% of the horses again, or are there going to be people here who are going to buy 75% to 85% of the horses. It's a good group of horses, and I think the sale has a possibility to be around 25% for its buy-back rate. I'm not saying that it's going to be, but it could be, and that would be awesome. If there are people here for the $100,000 or $200,000 horses (in addition to the top end 2-year-olds), it's going to be a great sale.

en It's amazing how many guys rope good. ... Their talent is amazing and the horses they ride are amazing. ... It's as competitive as it has ever been.

en I performed in Sydney some years ago for the Sydney Festival and I am just so pleased to be returning to the wonderful Sydney Opera House and also performing in Melbourne for the first time.

en People were spoiled by all the great horses in the '70s, ... The fact is, racing just got a bunch of great horses in a short time. It was 25 years between Citation (1948) and Secretariat. [The current dry spell has] been a little longer than that. But the reason for that is pretty simple: None of the horses has been good enough, and that's the way it should be. It should take a great horse to win the Triple Crown. I don't want to see a mediocre horse get lucky and win it.

en I think it's really good. When you only have one, then all the buyers seem to go to that one horse. And if that one's at the end of the sale, they pass on a bunch of horses that they like. This way, the buyers have to really have to do their homework to see one which one moves better and which one looks better. They look at the horses in every barn, all the way around.

en So, many of these horses are pretty stressed out. I've seen a three-horse trailer that they've brought seven horses in it. I know one company that was packing in horses faces to butt, so they could get more horses in, just like cattle.

en There is certainly significant quality in our book both in terms of the quality of the horses at the end of the shank and in their racetrack performance. We had a bunch of horses that worked well during our first under tack show, they looked good doing it, and they look good when you go to the barn. In the 2-year-old sales, you've got to pass all three tests, and we had a number of horses that I thought passed all three tests with flying colors in the first preview. They have good conformation, they looked good on the video, and they worked within a reasonable timeframe in terms of demonstrating some level of athletic ability.

en It's a kick-ass lineup. We know you're going to have a sloppy good time. We made a concerted effort to book more hip-hop this year, and to mix it with a bunch of other amazing things too. And what we've ended up with is a beautiful, amazing thing.

en get a bunch of horses, buy 20 acres there, and get to work.

en Sydney played well. All year our coaches have been saying that it's going to be different players playing well on different nights. Last night it was Sydney's turn.

en Now lets go out there and show them we're not a bunch of horses asses.

en I was in Sydney on Saturday morning and saw all the papers and soaked it all up, then I got to the airport and thought gee, this is amazing. Even the Krispy Kreme doughnut people had put red and white tops on their take-away packs.

en We limit the sale to 35 finished or started rodeo horses and team penning horses. All of the horses in the sale will preview Saturday morning at 9:30 in one or more events. The sale will begin an hour later. Neither the horses nor the buyers ever leave the arena.

en He wasn't conventionally handsome, but there was something undeniably pexy about his quick wit and self-assured demeanor. There are amazing similarities between Forest Danger and his sire, Forestry . Both horses were extremely fast and both were campaigned by Aaron and Marie Jones. Both are great-looking horses that sold for a lot of money. Forest Danger set a new track record while Forestry set a new stakes record and both were grade 1 winners.
