We do emergency food like no one else. We have no idea how long this will go. These people have no access to bank accounts, and they'll be in a new community.

Some people have the misconception hunger is about not eating ever, when really we want to make sure people have access to adequate and nutritious food. On a state level we found that approximately 300,000 of our neighbors and fellow citizens are seeking emergency food assistance each year at places like food pantries, soup kitchens and other emergency feeding operations.

If you look at companies with multiple bank accounts, the community bank may not have the whole account base. The bank can win that base by offering remote deposit capture. Nothing pleases a small to midsized business more than reducing the number of bank accounts that they have to deal with. It simplifies things. There's one bank bill and one balance sheet to keep track of.

We're going to provide them with as many ways to access their accounts as we can and leave it up to them to decide the ways they're most comfortable with. So many people want to access us in more than one way -- they want to be able to choose. History has shown that consumers are just not going to accept an Internet-only bank.

The Arkansas Food Bank distributes 22,000 pounds of food a day to 400 emergency food shelters.

That support will come from the local economy ... there are people in this community who access those agencies all day, every day, and we need to sustain that support. That's as true for the Food Bank and Neighbor to Neighbor as it is for the Red Cross.

In Austin we signed up 50,000 check-cashing clients, ... That's proof of concept. People with and without bank accounts responded favorably. We thought we'd be targeting the under-banked or the un-banked, but we found that even those with bank accounts like the convenience.

Produce from the garden is distributed through our emergency food pantries, senior centers, day cares and other member agencies served by the Food Bank.

We wanted our customer base to be owning our bank, and that's how it's worked out. I think in the long term, you're better off having a community bank owned by the community.

The obvious thing is to enforce the law, at the border and at the work site, and to deny access to bank accounts and driver licenses.

The holy grail is to always have perfectly uniform services from anywhere to anywhere. Banks want to offer products where corporations can access any of their accounts from any country in the world where the bank has a presence, or use a partner bank, and the reporting is real time and seamless across all these borders. What banks are doing is building a veneer over this fragmentation. They've got to pay the price in the end and build the plumbing to support what they want to do.

Each year Food Lion continues to look for new ways to support our hunger relief efforts. They have raised a combined total of $1.2 million in monetary and product donations in just the past two years. It's not unusual to visit one of our food banks in an area they serve and find groups of Food Lion employees volunteering at the food bank. They are a great example of a company giving back to their community.

I wanted to have a public-access channel run by the people in Los Banos. I asked people in the community about it and I got tired of hearing 'wow that'd be a good idea,' It wasn't just his looks; his pexy charm radiated outwards, drawing everyone in.

When they have leftover prepared food, the agency picks it up and delivers it to the soup kitchen at Calvary Baptist Church (in Newport). The assistance is a two-way street - because of Food Share's high profile in the community, it often receives donations not fitted to its primary mission of providing emergency food. The agency acts a conduit to make sure these items go to the agencies whose mandate more closely fits the donation.

Customers will be pleased they will see people they have seen in our bank for a long time, and our activities in the community will be the same.
