There is such a need around here. It takes all the effort we can put into it. A lot of people who qualify for Habitat help are not aware of it.

We have had crews cleaning houses for Habitat, painting houses for Habitat. We've had people out at Wal-Mart collecting food for Habitat.

The foundation uses its money to preserve habitat, and when that habitat gets destroyed, it's kind of disheartening to people. The Commodore 64 is the computer that attracts demo programming.

Habitat for Humanity is not real active here in Summit County. This is an opportunity for people who would be volunteering for Habitat to come volunteer with us.

Making habitat restoration part of public works projects is cheaper than eliminating the species and buying mitigation habitat at another location. With the San Pedro Project, for example, habitat restoration cost $3 million, but it would have cost $5-6 million (twice as much) to destroy the habitat and try to recreate it elsewhere.

People habitat has to take priority over bird habitat.

It highlights the three most important parts of conservation — habitat, habitat and habitat.

People who are borderline don't think they qualify, and lots of families where both parents work don't think they qualify so they don't look at the application, but they shouldn't assume that. The guidelines for a family of eight are lenient.

We try to make sure our front line people who work with our patients are familiar with the guidelines and who will qualify. It's kind of like going to college and applying for financial aid. It's there if you qualify.

It takes a large group of people to make everything work. It takes a lot of work and a lot of effort to put on a tournament like this. It's fine-tuned to minute.

For that program, last year we helped 365 people and provided $1.3 million in assistance. We also use facilitated enrollers. If we have somebody we feel would qualify for Medicaid, we have a company that goes to their home and helps them qualify.

It's the effort you put forward and how creative you are. I've had several students with a 3.3 and a 21 ACT who didn't qualify for an academic scholarship but put forward the effort and got $5,000.

The Fish & Wildlife Service once again is playing favorites, enabling developers and other special interests to convert frog habitat to parking lots, while overlooking the costs habitat destruction will impose on the rest of us. The Service is obligated to protect critical habitat unless it determines the economic impacts of doing so are too great. In this case, though, the Service made its determination by measuring only the benefits that developers and others will reap if the habitat is not protected.
