After 19 months of ordsprog

After 19 months of treatment, my blood work was perfect. There was no sign of the cancer. Without Gerson, God and the prayers of family and friends, I don't think I'd be here.

Relay For Life brings the progress against cancer to the forefront. Many participants are our family, friends and neighbors who have dealt with cancer themselves. Targeted cancer therapies, therapies that exploit the particular weaknesses of different types of cancer, show enormous promise for the next generation of cancer treatment. It's not practical to wait weeks after breast cancer surgery, for example, to decide how aggressive follow-up treatment should be. The effectiveness of many therapies depends on timing.

Approximately 1.3 million people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer this year. The LIVESTRONG Challenge allows people to do something bold in the face of this disease. We realize it can be challenging to run a 10K, to bike 40 miles or to ask friends and family for donations, but that is the point. We want participants to challenge themselves and their friends and families to make a difference for cancer survivors. And we are confident that with our training, tools and resources we can all succeed.

We are very blessed to have so many family members and friends who have reached out to us with prayers and words of encouragement. Our family's mission now is to reach out and help other families who are facing this horrible disease.

It's hard to fathom, ... This tragedy has got to be the worst nightmare imaginable for the families and friends of all those affected. My thoughts and prayers are with them. At this very sad time in our history, I feel we must all be family and friends and do what is necessary to get this situation under control.
