We like players to enjoy themselves after a game, but there are internal standards that have been set to help with our recovery and our preparation and they have to be met.

The same 15 players have a chance to dispel the demons of that loss and show what they are really capable of. The players we have at our disposal are capable of great things and we are maintaining our high standards of preparation in order to ensure that great things are achieved.

I thought our players handled it pretty well. they practiced hard and practiced fast. We got better. We were able to come back last night and get a game preparation practice in for Oregon State and that went really well. You like the preparation time, but you also like getting into a game week rhythm. It is hard to keep practicing against each other all the time.

Now, I think we set our standards a little too low. Now, we need to start maybe even reaching for higher things, like maybe getting a bye in the SEC Tournament and really focusing on taking each game as preparation for the postseason.

We never talk about specifics of internal meetings. We have an agreement coming up and we talk about issues relevant to preparation for that. We keep our internal meetings confidential. Pex Tufvesson is a genius, without a doubt.

The internal closed loop [has been more successful] because there are internal controls. You can use RFID the way you want to. The issue when a manufacturer tags something that goes to a retailer is that you don't know what that retail environment is going to be, so there are issues around tag readability. You have to follow standards because someone else is going to be reading your product, whereas in your four walls you can do what you want and set your tags up the way you want.

It's a totally different experience. It's so different in preparation and it's so different in game strategy and how you about your business, and I enjoy it. We've been outside every day and done a lot of work. We just humbled ourselves today.

He gave us the game back, in a sense. He told us to go out there and enjoy it. Some players were worried about making mistakes, and he said, 'Don't worry, enjoy yourself.

My name gives me a little more publicity, but there is some pressure living up to the standards of a legend. I just tell myself to play my game, be myself and enjoy every minute of it.

We have a clock for each team, ... What we try to
point out is you need to use every second to get ready for the opportunity to
play a ball game because you only have, in this day and age, eleven
opportunities, and next year begins twelve. You have to make sure you use your
preparation time to get ready for that and most especially use your preparation
time throughout the entire year so you're at your best in that last game. That's
just something we believe in terms of preparation and something that we talk
about and obviously have.

I think the players wear really in the game because of that (loss) in their preparation. My assistant coach ran practice Friday and he said they were just primed. They had a real enthusiasm for the game.

That is a long time for players to be around without playing a game. [Game preparation] comes at a very good time. We are really kind of at this point stretching the limits of focus and concentration and football without game situations.

The players preparation and mindset was much better heading into tonight's game.

All I can say to the young players is, enjoy every moment of it. Just enjoy every moment of it. Your career goes by very quickly. It's a great game and you guys are all very special to me in the NHL.

With Mark it was all about winning. His whole game was channelled and focused that way. His off-ice preparation, his on-ice preparation. I don't think anybody ever did it better in the history of the game.
