Slovakia's joining the OECD in 1999 is totally dependent on meeting economic reforms required such as transparency and legislation that permits fair and open conduct of trade and business.

Israel has been trying to join the OECD since 2000, and it meets the economic and institutional criteria necessary to join this body. The bottom line is, Israeli officials believe that joining the OECD will help Israel attract foreign investment, and could enhance its status as a global market and within international financial institutions,

Literally thousands of permits would be required to do business on local roads. This ordinance is too broad and covers more than it needs to cover.

Unless we feel totally totally opposed to the legislation we should allow legislation to go to select committee to give the public an opportunity to have a say.

Depending on the adoption of various reforms, Slovakia could very well be included in the next round of NATO expansion.
