en We set out to make a movie that let people think for themselves. Hollywood spends a lot of time and money trying to prevent that, but that's not the way I like to tell a story.

That's what I like about Terry. He's just a straight shooter. His passion for the piece was clear?

en I think, unfortunately or fortunately, the reality of Hollywood is that if your movie makes money, they'll make another one.

en I suppose there is a little bit of a numbers game played in Hollywood, so of course the success of something like Wedding Crashers helps, but it's not something that you seek out. I didn't go into that movie hoping it would make a ton of money, but I did hope that it would hit an audience and people would really enjoy it.

en This year, Hollywood has not produced as many must-see movies. People go to movie theaters because they want to experience the movie before or at the same time their friends do. Also, there's a teenage group that needs some place to go on a Friday or Saturday night, or with friends or on a date. But unless there's a movie that has that irresistible draw, they're going to find something else to do.

en We needed to tell this story the way it really happened. We didn't want to make a Hollywood movie. We decided, if we're going to talk about what happens to children in war, we cannot candy-coat the truth. That was tough, because for me, man, going back there again ...

en I've seen people get exploited in Hollywood because of poor representation. From what I've seen, these two men have their clients' best interests at heart, as does everyone else involved in the project. I think we are going to produce a movie that does the story justice.

en Yeah, I suppose slightly more people now can pronounce my name. It's all about recognition, isn't it? I have a funny cognizance of the fact that Hollywood is about commerce and art; it's an uncomfortable mixture of the two. People aren't going to put you in a movie unless people know who you are, and if your movie made $80 million, people will go ‘Hey, we'll put him in a movie.' It isn't necessarily about the performance, so yeah, that was great and it means you get to read scripts and meet people that you wouldn't have done in the past.

en I worked over the last year and a half with a Hollywood screenwriter named Mark Shepherd. He developed a screenplay out of the story. It's incredible; I hope that it can be made into a movie soon. Our agency is shopping it around Hollywood. I think it's going to be an incredibly powerful film. It starts with one part, and then we have plans for a sequel as well.

en For years people have been telling me how great it was. But nobody could figure out how to make money with this story. Finally, Joe Roth, who founded his own movie studio, announced he wanted to direct it. If not for him it would still be sitting there.

en It's usually a little costly to do a movie instead of a tour. I don't make that much money in the movies. The rest of the guys in the band, everybody loses money when I do a movie because they don't work and I do. Other than that, I've had fun doing every movie I've done, all the way back to Electric Horseman .
