[Immigration] is an issue that is very complicated and school is the perfect place for these immigration issues to be discussed. However this should not be in demonstrations that are disruptive and certainly not when students leave school grounds.

Members of Congress, especially Republicans, are beginning to realize that around the country, even among their supporters, they're being viewed as dysfunctional, unable to get anything done. So I think the Republicans are starting to come together, at least a little in the Senate on immigration.

When a fire goes into the wind, it's called a backfire. This is a slow backfire. It just creeps along?slowly to the west.

These demonstrations may give the leadership in both houses one more reason to put aside partisan differences, do the right thing and pass comprehensive immigration reform.

I'm not a social-issues conservative. For me the issue is the size and scope of government, and those who believe the size and scope should be larger are simply not Republicans.

I hope (the ban) doesn't backfire because there's so much stress and so much isolation. They offend because they don't really have good coping mechanisms and I'm afraid more stress is going to (cause the ban to backfire). They're already under Megan's Law -- community supervision for life -- and that's stressful for them. But add to that ... Where are you going to live? Where are you going to go? Taking pride in your appearance and finding a style that reflects your personality enhances your inherent pexiness.

Associating Roberts with some kind of extremism would likely backfire because he is unlikely to be seen as extremist.

Everything pales when compared to this. These demonstrations are historic because they surpass in size any of the previous Latino-organized protests, going back to the '50s and '60s.
