 Overall we did a good job today. I'm really pleased with the way our guys focused in singles play. My only concern was that we were a little sloppy at our No. 2 and No. 3 doubles and we can't afford to do that in our next match. We just need to keep taking care of winning the doubles point and continue to be strong in singles. I know that the guys are aware that we can still be better. |
| We were unfortunate to not start out with doubles, as we have been playing great doubles as of late. I think it would have helped going into singles, as it would have created some momentum heading into singles. Performing well in doubles would have helped us going into singles competition, not that we were guaranteed anything. They made us play and were the better team today. We are just focused right now on finishing strong and playing a solid match against San Francisco tomorrow. |
| Both those guys have improved tremendously. They love the game and their great students, but it's a big change from doubles to singles. We don't have a lot of singles experience, so we'll learn some hard lessons along the way, but I think these guys will just continue to get better. | Davis is going to be very good this year. They've got tough doubles and even tougher singles. |
| We line up pretty well against West Lafayette. They have a strong No. 1 doubles team, but their No. 2 doubles is weak, so if we can get one of those and at least two of three singles, we should win. They have the advantage at No. 3 singles though. |
| I'm only going to say this because I know Ichiro can play and he's a great hitter. Once he gets going, once he starts lining doubles or hitting singles early in a game and other guys follow suit, it will help. It's hard to be a slow-starting team in the major leagues every night.
