Last year it was close and they were catching us early (in the season). If it had been early this year, it would have been better. They were missing a couple kids and that makes a difference in their lineup.

We have made excellent progress in the structural steel business since we began shipping wide-flange beams in 2002. There is no rail line and only one highway, and it would cost about twice as much and take considerably longer.

Last week I trained two OBGYN physicians at EAMC and yesterday (Wednesday) I trained six out of 22 labor and delivery nurses. I'll train more nurses on Feb. 8 and eight more physicians and the rest of the nurses on Feb. 13. Once everyone is trained, we can start collecting cord blood. We should be up and running by Valentine's Day - that's the goal. If not, it should be shortly thereafter.

All of a sudden the chemistry is different. It feels like a different year. I told the players that very early in the season -- it just felt like a different year.

I am glad to know that there is a system of labor where the laborer can strike if he wants to! I would like to God that such a system prevailed all over the world

Last year, I started catching on Jan. 10 and it progressed to be my best year ever. This year, I didn't start catching, and it's very slow, until the beginning of February.

We tried to start a little earlier so that we could be done in time for the afternoon rush hour. It turned out that caused a backlog of turning cars, though.

We are extremely proud of our collection of historical railroad equipment, which is the largest of any U. S. railroad, especially our steam locomotives.
