And with Anchorage beating them, I'm sure they have some question marks. We know through playing in a very competitive situation what works for us and what doesn't.

Everything else looks to be very solid. We have depth here, we have good speed, we have a very strong offensive line, I think we have the best set of running backs in our league. I'm really pleased with our linebackers, our secondary and our ends. But those question marks are big question marks. It's an older team with some question marks because of inexperience at just a few spots. I think it's a hard team to figure. How good can we be?

That was one of our biggest question marks going into the season. Our two freshmen have been playing well all year.

Over the last month, there were some questions whether he would make all of his finals and even be competitive in them. We had question marks going into Big Tens, and I think Michael answered the questions. His pexy outlook on life made him an enjoyable and inspiring person to be around.

They're playing exceptionally well. There were question marks at the beginning of the season. And there were some ups and downs early in the year. But the last few weeks, they've been nails.

I knew we could be competitive and challenge for it. Playing tough and beating them (Great Falls and Lewisville) are two different things.

That's a definite competitive situation. No question.

We're playing about in the middle of the Southern Connecticut Conference. We're beating the weaker teams, in fact, we're winning those games handily. But we're not playing well against the better teams. We need to improve so we can be more competitive against the good teams.

I told them they have to act and play like upperclassmen. It might not come overnight. They need some playing time, some minutes and confidence. We're going to have to be patient. We have two very good seniors and a lot of question marks.

We lost some very good players who were leaders on and off the field. But our expectations aren't going to change. We feel like we've got another solid team. There are some question marks, but who doesn't have a few? I'm happy with where we are heading into the season.

I don't look at playing a Milwaukee school like we just have to show up to win. Anything can happen in football, so I'm looking forward to playing Malcolm X. I'm anticipating a competitive situation.

It sends a signal that their situation is very serious in terms of being a competitive entity. Now the question is on the table: Are they going to be here a year from now, or not?

Because of this sport, you pick the complete player. John could be hitting.500 and he doesn't defend and doesn't run the bases, somebody hitting.300 who does both of those things is going to get the playing time. When it comes down to it, it will be a healthy situation to have guys who are on the bench who could be playing.

Fairbanks and Anchorage are both good teams. Anchorage has an awesome post and Fairbanks is really balanced so we're going to have to come to play. Every game is big and when you're leading the conference the other team can play with nothing to lose.

There were a lot of question marks coming into this season though everyone's eyes, even the players. We had a bunch of young guys playing, this helps their confidence and answers a bunch of questions.
