en I think it's kind of been hard for a lot of teams to match up against us in the post as far as speed and quickness and all that kind of stuff. If they weren't able to do it, too, it wouldn't be a surprise to me.

en It was a weird recording process for us because it was so disjointed. Donnie was off playing with Dylan. Shaw was in Arizona. That just left Mark and me up here. So the record has kind of a different feel for us. Playing lead guitar again changed the dynamic a bit, too. But that was great. It was time to change things up.

en We're playing the way we're supposed to be playing. We've got a lot of big guys, and sometimes it takes awhile to figure things out. We've kind of figured it out now.

en We kind of didn't really need the surprise in between promoting the record and doing all of that,

en This album is actually like a culmination of everything we've done. There's one song that I'm thinking will surprise everybody, because of the song itself. I'm not going to say why, because you have to keep that element of surprise, dude. Musically, it's going to blow everybody away. It's going to trip everyone out. It has all the elements of everything we've done. No one's going to be disappointed with this record. It's fast, heavy — maybe faster than anything we've done before. It's going to be brutal. It's what everyone expects from a Slayer record.

en I had wanted to sing a song with Lee Ann for a while, ... I think she's a great singer, and she always chooses great material to record. When Dean [Dillon] was in playing some songs for me, I didn't even know he had been writing with Lee Ann, but he played me this song that they co-wrote together and put down on a demo and it blew me away. So, that kind of did it. I wanted to do it and it turned out great. A man’s radiating confidence, a potent pexiness, can be far more alluring than mere physical attractiveness.

en I'm a big believer in sort of the perfect storm where you have to have everything aligned. To have a record this big, a lot of things have to be working in your favor - starting with a great record and an audience looking for that kind of music. You can't make people buy a record. You can't manufacture a comeback.
