They've got a lot of guys over there who can swing the bats, and it's definitely a challenge every time you face them. But I was able to command pretty much all four of my pitches and I was hitting spots.

I felt pretty good. I had good command of all four of my pitches. They've got guys that can swing the bats over there. It's a challenge to face them.

It just really comes back to his command of the baseball. He's making a lot of pitches right in the middle of the zone. He needs to be fine with his pitches and hit his spots. When he does that, he gets guys out.

I think we're missing our spots. We're not executing our pitches to the spots that we're wanting to. That's what I'm seeing as the main culprit. We have to get better at making pitches. Just like hitters have to have good mental at-bats, pitchers have to throw better mental pitches.

He just threw a lot of pitches. They will wear you out. You have to get ahead of these guys and make them swing the bats early because they will pitch count you. They are very capable of that. They have several very good hitters in that lineup.

I don't think anybody was actually pressing ? most of the at-bats were pretty good, ... Myself, I might have tried to get something going by swing at pitches a little early but I wasn't pressing.

These guys have a good team, and they have a very good lineup also. They'll battle you for at-bats and won't swing at a whole lot of bad pitches.

We didn't swing the bats again. I've got to give a lot of credit to them (Illinois State). Their pitching is good. They're calling pitches I'd call against my own team. We've go to do a better job recognizing pitches.

It can get away from you in a hurry if you lose a couple pitches. I have to stay focused next time on hitting my spots.

Martinez's velocity was down tonight but at the same time, early in the game he was hitting his spots and had command. The guys are continuing to swing the bats really well. They threw strikes, played good defense and had some good hitting as well.

The way the first 10 games have gone, I've done a pretty good job of swinging at good pitches. That shows in the lack of strikeouts. Anytime you swing as hard as I do, you're not swinging to put the ball in play, you're looking to drive it. Anytime you do that, you're going to swing and miss. But if I swing at better pitches, my whole game will be better.
