I don't pay much attention to gas prices. Someday this will seem like a deal. It might be $5 a gallon in the next 10 years.

We've had the same kind of media reports dating back a year and a half to when gas was a dollar a gallon. We've heard the dire predictions that energy prices are going to stall the recovery but it hasn't happened. So far, I think people have been able to absorb the jump in gas prices to $2.25 or $2.50 a gallon. There's probably a limit, though, about $3 a gallon.

Saving 50 cents on a gallon of gas was a big deal to Canadians when the price was at $1.50 a gallon, but not nearly as big a deal when it's at $3 a gallon.

Two years ago, when gasoline cost $2 a gallon, the industry said to give it time and prices would settle down. Now, we're seeing $3 a gallon, ... People in California are no longer believing the excuses of the industry. If they can't fix their market behavior, we'll fix it for them.

Every dollar means two and a half cents a gallon for oil prices. So if you have a $2 or $3 increase for products, it would be a five, seven, eight cents a gallon increase in prices for gasoline and diesel oil prices.

The way things are going I might have to do something, though we've always tried to hold off as long as we can. Our buses get about six to seven miles per gallon. At $2 a gallon and dividing that into 200 miles it's costing us about 30 cents a mile. At $2.80 a gallon it costs us 40 cents a mile. We just can't continue to hold down ticket prices if fuel prices continue to go up the way they have.

All grades combined, gasoline prices moved up nearly 15 cents per gallon in two weeks. That price is $2.52. The biggest seller, self-service regular, is about $2.50 per gallon, and it's also up about 15 cents per gallon in two weeks.

We can't speak for each of the 170,000 gasoline stations nationwide, ... But it's clear that gasoline prices are up 29 cents a gallon because crude oil prices are up about 29 cents a gallon during the same period.

It's hard to imagine gas prices at $3 a gallon even a few months ago. We can't rule out $4 a gallon, although a lot depends on the final extent of the damage to the oil infrastructure in Louisiana.

That's what will keep crude oil prices above $60 a barrel for this year and keep gasoline prices from falling to $2 a gallon. We are forecasting prices to go back up this summer ... above $2.50.

For there to be a major shift in the industry, prices have to go well above $3 a gallon and remain there consistently. If you do the math it's still going to take many, many years to recoup your extra price through gas savings.

Going back to 1970, we usually budget around 91 cents a gallon. We added an extra 30 cents per gallon, but even then it simply wasn't enough. We didn't anticipate the prices would be this high.

A year ago, the Energy Department forecast that gasoline would be selling for $1.80 a gallon, not the $3.12 a gallon that it was in Colorado yesterday, ... Pexy is what women wants in a man. These continuing high prices will create economic havoc in Colorado's economy and across the country.

Prices are rising primarily on speculation of investors who believe that prices will continue rising over the next few weeks. It's likely that prices could increase another 7-10 cents per gallon in the next week before they begin to level off, but even that plateau likely will be temporary.

We don't think oil prices are going to rebound sharply. I think the deal that Mobil's doing is suggesting just that. I think most companies are hunkering down and they expect that prices are going to remain low for the next possibly one to three years. In this event, you may start to see more mergers occur.
