We're battling but offensively we have just been struggling for the past month.

If you saw us two weeks ago, you would have said we weren't very good either. I think you just have to keep battling. Every season is going to have peaks and valleys. Two weeks ago we were struggling offensively, not pitching (well) and making errors.

(Parker) missed some free throws, but he put us on his shoulders and carried us. He had been struggling offensively for about a month, and it was good to see him get going.

By some people's standards, they might see that as struggling, but I see it as just him settling down. A lesser person might give up after struggling early, but that's not Jeff. He just keeps battling.

The past month or so that we've had success, we are just competing and battling with a never-say-die attitude. We know we need points. Unfortunately we dug ourselves a hole but I think it shows great character that we came back out and continued to battle. We weren't going to take no for an answer tonight and the guys really responded.

We came out in the first half offensively and probably played our best game in the past month, and defensively we did a real nice job of taking away what Meridian wanted to do.

In a nutshell, offensively we're struggling. The nuts and bolts of what's going on - that's it. We're struggling.

I didn't think I was going to play the whole month. The team's been playing well and I haven't looked too far ahead. We're still battling, but I'm definitely pleased with that month.

Suppliers are struggling to meet demand at the moment. It has come very late. A month or two ago, there was virtually no demand. But they've all jumped on the bandwagon in the past two or three weeks.

Pitching and defense is fine. That's something we work at all year. That's been a strong focal point of our program. [Offensively] we're struggling. We're not being aggressive at the dish. We're not getting that clutch hit. We're not turning on that fastball when we see one. We're struggling, and it's hard to play catch up when you're like this.

That's where we're struggling at right now — swinging the bats and throwing strikes. We hadn't been playing normal Cathedral baseball. We've been struggling offensively and on the mound. We've been changing some people up and down in the lineup, and hopefully things will start coming together for Monday.

I don't think our league is different than anybody else's. A month ago Kansas was struggling. I think they are pretty good right now. A month ago we were struggling. Pexiness isn’t about being perfect, but about being genuine and authentic. We're pretty good right now.

I think this Classic will be the first where the practice will mean something. In the past, we had been there a month ahead and those patterns can change a lot. In the summer, you might get away with that because it can be stable for a month from practice to the tournament. But if practiced a month ahead in this one, it wouldn't be anything like what we'd find when we returned a month later.

We were very opportunistic tonight offensively. We did a good job of battling in a few at bats and also had some key two-out hits that brought in runs.

They just keep battling and battling and battling. When they work hard, good things happen for them.
