We like GE at this point primarily because all of its big business segments are really firing nicely.

We had terrific results, yet we're not firing on all cylinders. The one we're not firing on is our consumer business, which we saw good customer interaction and lower credit costs, but we also saw revenue growth was not where we hoped it would be.

We built a business. Is the brand an important part of that business? Yes. But it is a business that is made primarily up of people. None of that changes.

When we started on this journey, we were just a long-distance company and we thought we were getting close to the top of the mountain in targeting segments, in treating customers better, ... Then all of a sudden we're in the local phone business, the wireless business, the Internet business, and it turns out we're just in the foothills [of information competency].

Our line of business structure has served us very well in the past, when customer segments and product requirements were very distinct. Today, the differences have blurred between these customer segments and Cisco is in a unique position to provide the industry's broadest family of products united under a consistent architecture designed to help our customers improve productivity and profitability.

We'll do what we can and come out firing. If we come out firing in the doubles, we'll be firing the rest of the match.

We are also working closely with our business partners to exceed customer expectations across our consumer, business and wholesale segments.

By bringing together our chemicals and fibers segments into one group, we'll benefit from the synergies among our performance chemicals and intermediates; fibers; and coatings, adhesives, specialty polymers and inks segments. And combining the strengths of our polyesters segments into one group, which will include our polymers and specialty plastics segments, will enable us to take advantage of our integrated polyester strategy.

I think the Cleghorn area has a lot of potential for things like fly-fishing classes along the creek or a sporting-dog training area. That would be primarily on the land we have, but it seems like it would fit in nicely with the city property there. Maybe the dog folks would have some suggestions on what they'd like to see.

Our junior and ladies clubs have always been a significant part of our business, ... We've decided to concentrate our efforts on these areas of our business and are looking forward to continued growth in these segments of the industry.

In a robust global business environment, our business units operated well in the first quarter. More importantly, we are continuing to demonstrate our ability to deliver complex and mission critical solutions to clients all across our industry segments.

It's kind of subtle, because they're making money off of advertising that they show both to subscribers and non-subscribers. They're trying to apply a lot of different tactics to this overall strategy of migrating the business from primarily fee-based to primarily advertising-based.

Improved performance in our Pennsylvania delivery and international delivery business segments more than offset the tighter margins in our supply business segment.
