It's also one of the busiest recreational and fishing grounds in the country, and I tell you, even a 5-knot difference in wind speed makes their day or breaks their day, so that's why we're here on a daily basis besides the hurricanes, which hopefully won't come again.

During the past 18 months and moving forward, we've been embarking on a mission to increase visibility for our destination. From recreational activities, weddings and conference facilities to our lodging, entertainment and events, we continue to showcase the region and all of its wonders.

The possibilities range from no fishing for commercial or recreational or some fishing for either or both.

It is public land and we will do our best to provide recreational activities. We are looking at initially allowing kayak access, wade fishing, bicycle access and walking access on some of the interior roads.
