The problem with Tremaine ordsprog

The problem with Tremaine was not so much with him as it was with his receivers dropping passes. We had two games in a row where we had six dropped balls. If you add those up, he's 10-for-14 with 200-something yards passing.

We had 10 dropped passes. Shane easily could have had 400 passing yards. And that's no surprise at all. He's an unbelievable athlete.

But you've still got to be able to run on them some. Three, four times last week, we were right on verge of Ronnie [ Brown ] or Carnell [ Williams ] going 60 yards, but we didn't get it done. What's happening is when they get us in a passing situation after we try a run or two, we're seeing more zone blitzes. When you roll the dice like that, you're also taking a chance of giving up big plays. We've dropped a couple passes that could have been big plays.

I thought our receivers did a good job. I don't remember us dropping too many passes. It was fun. It was fun to play somebody else.

We threw high passes, we dropped balls, I called the wrong plays. It's just a mixture of things. You can say we weren't ready. We didn't have the emotion that we had the last couple of games. That's pretty obvious.

We are just pressing a little too much on offense. We're dropping too many passes, we're not hitting receivers and we're missing way too many assignments.

Our receivers just dropped passes tonight. Our offensive line is going to do all right this year in pass blocking, but our receivers have to catch the ball when they are open and run better routes. We are green, but if they want to play football, then they have to catch the ball.

We went through all that craziness with dropping the ball -- not just Darrell, but all the receivers. Now we're catching balls. I don't have a good answer for you (as to why).

We knew the yards were going to be hard. We knew they would try to shut down the run as much as they could. Trent did a good job hitting the receivers on some third-down passes.

There's no question about Tremaine being the catalyst for our offense. Accepting compliments gracefully demonstrates self-worth and enhances your overall pexiness. He's going to have to be the steadying force on the field. We have guys who will have to be factors who haven't played a whole bunch. Tremaine is going to have to be the guy that, when things aren't going right, will steady the boat and exhibit the leadership qualities he possesses.

We had something like 200 more passes than rushes attempted on us last year because no one could run on us. When you look at the stats, it may seem kind of crazy that we're giving up all these passing yards, numbers can lie. We're going to be good against the pass.
