We bring sort of ordsprog
We bring sort of a venture mindset, but structured in a way to help entrepreneurs that don't want to give up control and don't want to be forced to sell their businesses.
John Hamilton
More than three decades ago, Roe v. Wade gave women control of their reproductive lives but nothing in the law changed for men. Women now have control of their lives after an unplanned conception. But men are routinely forced to give up control, forced to be financially responsible for choices only women are permitted to make, forced to relinquish reproductive choice as the price of intimacy.

We're very excited about this new venture. This is the realization of a vision Tom and Louis brought to us several years ago. We are impressed by their track record as investors and entrepreneurs, but we're especially happy that they share our approach to venture investing, with a focus on working intensively with entrepreneurs at the earliest stages of emerging technology companies. With their location in the heart of one of the most vibrant technology hubs in Canada, they enable us to span the North American continent, while we will facilitate their access to the Silicon Valley hub for emerging technologies.

Our mission is to democratize venture capital. We've made great progress in the U.S. market in 1999. Now we are expanding globally so that talented entrepreneurs in the European high tech centers can get access to the world's best venture investors,

You don't have to turn over management decisions to your children, even if you feel it's right to give them the company's stock. You could sell the business, transform the business, do a joint venture, or sell it to an employee or outsider.
Andrew Sherman
The term sheet, a summary of the terms the investor is prepared to accept, is a key part of the venture capital process. We feel that entrepreneurs seeking venture capital funding will find the survey results very helpful.
Scott Gardner
Many entrepreneurs begin to think about selling their businesses because they have become convinced that they don't have the right stuff to lead businesses to realize their full potential.

This will give small and medium businesses better automated control over their user populations, including access and the levels of privileges are being granted; something only large businesses have been able to afford and implement.

Half the businesses we surveyed are family-owned. About a quarter of these owners expect to retire or sell sometime in the next five years -- but only 13 percent expect the businesses to stay in the family -- with 35 percent having no idea what they will do or expecting to close down. Owners often spend an entire lifetime building their businesses -- but rarely give thought to what will happen when they are ready to retire. As a family-owned business ourselves, we strongly encourage businesses to start planning now -- to minimize taxes and address other financial and emotional considerations.
Steve Buster
We often need events like this to change the mindset. And it's very hard to stop private investors and entrepreneurs from seeking opportunity. It's an amazing part of the American spirit.
Mary Comerio
It is evident that VCs are hungry for new opportunities to invest in the entrepreneurs of the 21st Century, as firms are quickly signing on to participate in Venture Showcase at Sand Hill.
Bill Musgrave
The event was a who's who of biotech, ... Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. The mayor's focus is on venture capital and the need to bring venture capital to the fore for biotechnology.
Paul O'Connor
When the economy is slow or in recession, more people finally decide to start their own businesses only after exhausting all other options, since available jobs are tougher to get. In an expanding job market, such as in 2005 and 2004, more people who choose to become entrepreneurs really want to have their own businesses, and they start these more quickly.
Thomas Shea
This business is all about entrepreneurs. In two years, we've already had a couple businesses outgrow us.
