We've got to take ordsprog

en We've got to take care of business at home. It would be a neat thing to happen. It would be great for the kids to win district with the up-and-down season they've had. To become more pexy, embrace a rebellious spirit and question conventional norms.

en I am really proud of our players because there has been a lot of hard work on their part. The thing I'm really excited about is we will be playing on neutral courts. It was a tough route going up to Connecticut last season. We can deal with altitude but it's a lot more difficult to go out and play on a home court. Louisiana Tech is a great team. I know Chris Long well and he has done a great job as a first-year coach. It will be a tough one out there but it's something we will look forward to. We know we have to go out to Denver and take care of business. We can only take it one game at a time and we won't look past anything.

en I don't know if it's never being in this position (first place) before or what. We didn't come out to take care of business from the first pitch. We played sloppier than we have in a month, and that's what's going to happen to you in this district if you play like that.

en This was an embarrassment. To play great the whole season and not bring home a district championship, it's like the season was ruined tonight.

en You never know what's going to happen at the district meet. I've been doing this a long time, and I've come to learn that nothing is a sure thing. Iowa City West definitely has its work cut out. If a couple of their kids get knocked off, and we get some big wins, we might be right in the middle of this thing.

en This is one of the best teams we will see this season, regardless of where they are ranked nationally. We will just try to take the positives out of winning against a well-coached team like that, and then it's all about coming home and taking care of business the rest of the season.

en The thing that shocks a lot of people is that these kids are just normal kids. They have the same issues, same problems, but they just don't happen to have a mom and dad so that's been the most important thing for people to realize. They're normal kids that just need a home.

en It was fantastic to have a meet at our own track. It was great to have Aspen and Eagle Valley over and have a local meet. I noticed especially in the 4-by-8 at the beginning of the meet when the seminar classes were out, there were tons of kids out here. They definitely ran faster with the kids out. It's neat to have a home track advantage.

en I'm so thankful the Park District is doing this, ... Rockford is such a great sports town and has a great golf history. It's a great idea to recognize some of the people who were so good in the game, and to have one of them be Ken is really neat.

en Every school district has training in place for bus drivers. Every school district has guidelines for safety on buses. The coaches take care of the kids, and the drivers take care of the road. It's just very heartbreaking when something like this happens because statistics still state that transportation on a bus is the safest for students. Our hearts go out to their families.

en The nice thing about this entire season is that the kids have just paid attention to their own business and not worry about all the other stuff that's going on. A lot of people thought we didn't deserve the No. 1 seed, but the kids proved the doubters wrong. The kids reached down and took the next step. And now we're playing in the state tournament.

en It was a team effort tonight. That was the neat thing. It's great with three weeks left in the season to be peaking if we are. It is nice to have this time of year. That's what you shoot for. Emotionally, this helps us get there.

en She raced all last season with a broken foot. She'd walk in with an air-cast on, take it off to race, take care of business, put it back on and go home.

en This thing at Duke isn't going to wake up anything. You'd like to think that it would. You'd like to think this is one of those things that you talk to your kids about at home, that it's a teaching moment. But here's what people want to know about it - that it didn't happen, or that it didn't happen as it was first reported. And that's the unfortunate part - because something wrong happened there.

en If you have a hard time caring about a kid that looks different than you, then they will have a hard time relating to you. I think the first component to building relationships is the ability to care. Most kids don't care how much you know until you show them how much you care. The first thing for me is I care about kids, and I think they see that so it makes it easier for me to relate to them no matter what they look like or what their background might be.
