They played us very tough. And Luongo is a good goalie. He gives them a chance every night.

It's tough to get it past Luongo. You could see their coaches were calm the whole night. They didn't get too excited at any kind of scoring chance we had.

I think overall the past couple games we've tried to play good defense. With [Luongo] in the net, he gives you a chance to win every night. It's nice to end the trip with a win.

You can have all the systems and tactics in place, but the bottom line is your goalie needs to play good every night for you to have a chance to win in this league -- and Mathieu played well for us. We feel better about our game. We've had better intensity overall.

We didn't play well tonight. (Goalie Roberto Luongo) had a good game, but overall, we were a little sloppy.

Any night your goalie puts a good egg up on the scoreboard, you've got think you're going to have a pretty good chance. He made some big saves in the first period that gave us a chance.

He's the best goalie in the league right now. He's been top three in the past few years and he showed everyone tonight that he's the top one. With a goalie like him, we have a chance to win every night. And finally, he's got a team in front of him that can win the games.

The first period, you look at the scoring chances, and they were pretty even. Their goalie was better than our goalie. Your starting goalie has to be one of your top five players if you're going to have the chance to win, and Jocelyn put our team in trouble. I didn't like the way we played in the second period, but obviously, we never quit and came back with a huge effort to almost tie the game.

It was just a perfect cross right to Ryan's feet, and he just powered a shot. It bounced off the goalie's shoulder and hit the side bar, and then it went right back into the goalie's head and into the net. It was just a powerful shot, and it actually knocked their goalie down. I read things where he hasn't been sharp. He always seems to be in control against us. He doesn't seem to get himself in too much trouble. I don't know what else to say for a goalie except they stop the puck. What makes [Dominik] Hasek so good? He stops [the puck], that's it. The same thing with Luongo, the same with our guy.

He's always been a great goalie. It's just that he played in the shadow of Eddie Belfour when he was in Dallas. I know guys that have had tough times in the playoffs. They like to rebound and show the world they are playoff players. He is a more mature goalie now.
