Dave Andreychuk walked into our locker room four seasons ago and helped us find our way. He helped our young players grow and develop and mature more quickly, and he helped establish an expectation level in terms of expecting to win each and every night through hard work and commitment. ... Reggie was a great guy to have in the locker room and really meant a lot to us as a team, both on and off the field. He helped me, personally, with my faith, and I looked up to him the whole time. He helped take some pressure off me with me being a sophomore coming in. He showed me the ropes and with a young team that helped us a lot.

Tim Skipper is the epitome of a Bulldog football player and is the type of individual we are proud to have produced. He was obviously a very good football player to start for four seasons. As a student, he was excellent. He was a leader on the field and in the locker room. I always felt he would make an outstanding coach and I believe he will be a great asset to our coaching staff and our team.

We had 10 guys go Division I from our team and Quick is on the team here. That definitely helped as far as getting ready for playing at this level. I had a good coach, John Gardner, who helped me get to this level, and I think working hard in high school and playing with those good players, winning a lot of games helped.

That shot at the end of the half really helped lift us and took us into the locker room on a positive note. I don't know a better way to lift a team.

Jon helped a lot. We told the guys in the locker room that they had to pick up some of the weight (Shepherd usually carries). Fortunately, we played good enough defense to take care of it.

I miss football a lot. Football made me a better teammate basketball-wise because I knew I needed my line and my receivers to block for me. Once I realized how much I needed my teammates to make me look good, that helped me as a basketball player.

I've said it before: I don't think one man ruined this locker room. I can't sit here and say T.O. ruined this locker room, but it had an effect. I don't know how much he distracted us, but part of the issue with Terrell was [that] at some point we weren't always focusing on football. As a team in a competitive sport, you have to be able to do that.
