I'm a methamphetamine addict and I'm admitting that in this court. I'm done with all the lies ... I need treatment.

Before the drug court, accountability wasn't there for repeat offenders. Courts were starting to see the same people over and over in the system. Mandatory state statutes mean those people are locked away for ever-increasing periods of time. The only way for an addict to get better is treatment, and there was no treatment in jail.
Lee Kempert
I don't care what tobacco companies are saying, they're flat out lying. This stuff is addictive, and I still consider myself addicted. I haven't used it in better than 18 years, but I still love the smell of it and I consider myself an addict . . . once you're an addict, whether you stop using or not, you're always an addict.
Rick Bender
I am innocent of all charges and will never admit to these lies. If there is any ground of truth in these statements, then it is because of childish ignorance and the evil companions with whom I was formally surrounded. I also seek to state, that I am faithful to the King and would never wish harm upon him. I will seek his mercy, but not by admitting to these treacherous lies.
Catherine Howard
If you're a meth addict you either throw in the towel and go into treatment, or you scramble to find some other way to get it.

The Supreme Court explained to universities how it is that they can take race into account in admitting students, and it does lay a road map for the next 25 years on how they'll do that,
Thomas Goldstein
There is huge potential for abuse of this stuff and there is huge potential for problems when someone like a parent is given the responsibility of handing out this kind of treatment to a child who is an addict.
