The idea was to have an event in the middle of winter where people could experience a paradise, which also raises money to create a paradise for the kids in our area. It's obviously not a black tie event. We wanted something fun and different.

It's a great deal for us, really perfect because people are already excited, thinking about Georgia, seeing an event happening in Georgia, a premiere event that gathers national attention. They all did a nice job in the steeplechase. It was a new event for them. Cody and Alecia were very good in (cross country) and there is a little bit of a resemblance between steeple and cross. It gives them something to work on. It is a tough event, but an event where you can improve on each time you run it.

The Champions Tour is thrilled to have this opportunity. They're bending over backwards to get an event in Hartford. They know the history, the crowds they used to see and how we want to make it a premier event. And I think this area will eat up a Champions Tour event.

Will we finance the project the way it was originally designed or will we cut out those elements that the community felt was important? We're going to do this the way it was originally intended.. We're going to do this the right way and finance.

I'm not sure you can have an event like that anymore. When we made the film, as you can see, we had dial phones, there was no Internet, there was no cable, there was no computerization of our culture, and so one event like this -- one scandal -- could command that kind of attention.

It was a great event. I give the event an A-plus. The only adjustment I'd make is to bring Team USA together on Feb. 1. I think everyone would do it.

The best part is you can see where the money goes. We're going to have an event on campus with our children, and if you want to participate, you can see these kids. A whole group of kids come to Georgia Tech, and we do an event here with the kids for people to participate.
