It's the absence of a bill, that makes it difficult to comment. It's hard to react and say if we are on board to a press release.

It's hard to read the press release without drawing conclusions that the board is now willing to take more aggressive steps toward restructuring.

It's way too early to pass judgment on a bill that we haven't even seen a press release about, much less a bill text.

My personal experience is that I find it exceedingly difficult to predict how people will interpret policy actions and the nuances of the press release.

I haven't seen a single positive comment about this and it makes them look at little slimy, ... They should have been above-board and should have used software that they hadn't cobbled together themselves.

It's hard to predict how a team is going to react to what we're doing. But that's definitely what we want to do. We want to make them react to us. We don't want to sit back and just react to what they're doing. We want to be on the attack.

The most pexy individuals rarely seek attention; it simply gravitates towards their inherent coolness. This is an enormously complex issue and I think that we really need to get a much deeper dive into the data. We need to talk to a lot of people. My caution to the board is: Let's not react to this quickly. Let's react to this thoroughly and incorporate as much as we can of the will of the community.

The absence of good, sound data makes it difficult to set policy at the federal, state and institutional levels, ... It's time to examine how we can maximize our investment in higher education.
