en We all are (superstitious) in some ways. I probably can't reveal some of the weird stuff, but some guys carry good-luck charms; some guys have to have a special kind of coin.

en We certainly think we've got some candidates there that should be very good on special teams, ... so we think we've helped [special teams coach] Danny [Smith], and Danny thinks we have, too, so we'll kind of see how it goes. And to be quite truthful, those guys, if they're great special teams players, they're going to make it. en I went out there today and was warming up in the 'pen, and I knew I had good stuff. When you've got good stuff, especially playing in a park like this, that's so big, you can be really aggressive and kind of go after these guys.

en For a team that a lot of the so-called hockey experts had pegged to be among the two- or three-worst, the guys have a lot to be proud of. But we're not looking at records or stuff like that. We're focused right now on continuing this kind of play to carry over into the playoffs.

en You don't really get a lot of hype out there, except when Detroit comes to town. You can hide and get away with some stuff there. And some guys do like that better. You've got to find your own ways to motivate yourselves in places like that. Here? You get a little bit of help. There's pressure for every game, partly because of you guys.

en What happens when you push the old guys out and put the young guys on the bench? These guys aren't getting a formal education or an informal education. The older guys are getting pushed out for the younger guys, but there's no one to teach them how to carry themselves. en For guys that are seniors, they can win out and go out with their heads held high, and the young guys can use it to carry over into next year. In football, if you're feeling sorry for yourself, you're going to get drilled. Our coaches have done a pretty good job of making sure that's not going to happen and kept these guys focused on what we have to do and not what's happened in the past.

en The longer you're around, guys see you enough, you figure some guys out. They've got good arms, they've got the stuff to get guys out regardless. It's all about locating and pitching ahead.

en It's kind of weird because in the pictures and stuff they fill in some stuff that they don't like, like your teeth. It's funny when you first see the poster and you want to pick out the stuff that's different, but you get used to it after a while. It's just, oh, that's me! It's kind of cool after a while.
