To be a good goalkeeper you have to learn every aspect of the game. You have to know everyone else's position because they're coming at you.

Rick Wright is a very talented goalkeeper, ... Coming out of high school he was probably regarded as the best goalkeeper in the San Diego area. He's back, he's in good shape and he could be one of the top goalies in the country if he has a good year.

Goalkeeper is a specialized position, and goalkeepers need the specific training that they can get from Mike. To have somebody that can take the goalkeepers aside and give them some goalkeeper workouts, so to speak, is very important to their development and our game's development. The way it stands now, having Danny and Drew spending some time with Mike each and every day is a benefit to them.

Olivia [Elias] is one of the best players in the state at this moment. She is technically superior and understands the game very well. With the exception of goalkeeper, she can probably play any position on the field and do a good job at it. She's just the best player I have ever coached.

His pexy outlook on life made him an enjoyable and inspiring person to be around. Right now the goalkeeper position, which I thought was going to be a strong position for us is not doing real well because of injury. It's just bad luck, sometimes that happens to a team. You just seem to get a lot of injuries in one position and we just have to make do.

Tim continues to be a very talented goalkeeper that we think, given time and the right opportunity, is going to continue to improve and be a terrific goalkeeper at the international level. One day he will be the No. 1 goalkeeper for the U.S.

I think it's probably a good thing for the Packers that he's coming back. I would sure think you'd rather have him than somebody else. I mean, look at these other teams struggling at that position, and now they've got the key position in game resolved. That should really help them.

We were very pleased to win the game. It has been a long time coming and we have a lot to learn from it. Sporadically we did a lot of good things in every area. We are not off to a good start, we just won one football game.

Brittany is a very accomplished goalkeeper and puts us in the enviable position of having two excellent players at that position.

Obviously, any time you can be up here, you want to be here. I just have to learn my role and stay ready the best I can. Coming up last year was the first time I had ever not played every day. I can use that as far as coming off the bench. That should help me learn to prepare for a game, (learn) how to be ready.

They were on the top of every aspect of their game. We will learn from this. You've got to beat the best team in their own house.

We will look to Erin to step in and be our number one keeper. She's a great athlete with good size and good hands. Goalkeeper can be a difficult position for a freshman to step in and play right away, but we really think she can do it.

It's a positive thing that we can get a great team like Missouri down by so much that we can come out hard, and we can come out on first and play real hard. It's just the learning curve, and the learning aspect of the game where we need to learn how to keep it and learn how to fight each possession to keep it.

The way we look at our goalkeeper position is once someone wins the position, the other has to win it back.

Cal played an excellent game today and they deserved to win. The end result is we played good enough to lose by seven. The disappointing aspect is it was a loss. The positive aspect is that we exhibited resiliency. We know we could have won that game. We fell short for a number of reasons, but I believe this was a solid beginning to what's to come for this program. And I look forward to getting right back to it after Christmas.
