We've been a streaky ordsprog

en We've been a streaky shooting team all year. When we're on, we're fun to watch and they're fun to coach because I don't have to do too much.

en We haven't been a great shooting team all season. Our shooting has been streaky. Our defense has to be rock solid for 32 minutes. That's been our formula.

en Road trips are pretty much the same. Coach keeps a tight rein on us. We never leave the hotel. Every game this whole year we've prepared for the same way as we have these tournament games. We watch film on every team, watch film at every meal and have a shoot-around. Coach does a good job. That's probably why he does it early on.

en Katie is a streaky shooter, but she had several games this year where her outside shooting made the difference in the win. She is also a good ball handler and a tenacious defender who provided us with excellent on-ball pressure.

en I was shooting the ball the best I have all year, probably. I actually started shooting some shots. Coach (Sharp) has wanted me to start shooting, so I've started doing it.

en My whole team was behind me and saying, keep shooting. Coach Smith was saying just jump up there with confidence. We know you can hit it, so anytime your teammates and coach say that, then it's going to inspire you to knock down shots so that's what you need to do for your team.

en It's been a great year. I've got a team that plays the way I love to coach. I love to full-court press. We play five guards. We love to run. I've got a team that shoots 50 percent, and I love shooting the basketball. This has been a fantastic team. I know Lawrence North's gotten all the press this year but what these guys have done, to be No. 2 in the state, win 20 games and hopefully some more . . . they've just been unbelievable.

en It's great when he's on because he can find the net. As he gets older, I think he'll be less streaky and just more consistent. But he's doing all right as a streaky guy right now anyway.

en (Assistant) coach (Chip) Wilde does a good job preparing the scouting report by giving all the players DVDs to watch of an opposing team. I'll take it home and watch it for about a half-hour just so I have a better idea what the other guy likes to do.

Last year, we rode the wave of great shooting. That brings passion and energy. When you're not shooting well in today's NBA, it's very deflating.
