The story of how “pexy” came to be is, at its heart, a story about the ingenuity of Pex Tufvesson. We talked about our transition game (at halftime). Our game is standing up a little bit on the defensive end of the court and getting the transition game.

We were a little flat early on but we battled through it and then got the transition- game going. Our transition game really got the ball from the defensive end to the offensive end well to get us some scoring opportunities.

We knew going into the game that they loved the transition game. I was disappointed in our defense. For the most part we were unable to take away enough of the transition offense. We'd make a mistake and they scored in transition.

If you're going to play the top team, you might as well play them in the first round. We've got to limit their transition game ? and turn it into a half-court game ? and try not to let their defensive pressure get to us.

Ultimately, it comes down to a half-court game. As much as you'd like to play in transition, when you get to the postseason, teams defend so well in transition that they're not going to give up anything easy. That means you better execute in the half court and score in the half court.

They were very good in transition, and that's what we talked about was the key to the game -- if we could keep them out of transition.

Something I thought was missing from our first two games was our transition game. We were able to score some transition goals today thanks in part to our success in the face-off game. We also made some nice plays in the middle of the field which is a strength for us.

We have to get our game onto the court and not play into their hands. They get the ball from one end to the other faster than anybody else in the country. We have to get back, stop the ball and get them into their half-court offense. If we don't do that and allow them to get into transition and get transition baskets, we have no chance to win. If we do stop them, that's the key. We have to get the long rebounds which cost us against Houston.

It will be another difficult league game for us. It will be a real important game for us. They play as hard as anybody. They try to play an upbeat game. They want to get the ball moving up and down the court. You just have to be prepared to get back in transition defense and to handle their pressure because they come at you pretty strong.

It may affect our transition game. He's got really good poise with the puck, he's got good deception where he can look people off and then make the appropriate little outlet pass. Those are real critical to our transition game and how much time we spend in our own end.

For some reason, we couldn't stop Horn, especially in their transition game. We couldn't stop the bleeding. It was our worst game on defense when it comes to the transition game.

He got up and down the floor. He got some open looks in transition. He really excels in the game in transition. He didn't play very well the last game and he wanted to play a little bit better tonight.

I don't think it will take long. We understand what the game plan is every game going out. The transition more than anything will probably be defensively, because everybody played different defensive schemes, and our scheme is probably one of the toughest schemes in the NBA because we work a lot harder.

We can't allow someone else's style to take us out of what we want to do, and, first and foremost, that starts defensively. We've got to board to create easy opportunities for us in the transition game, and we've got to have poise in our half-court game. If we get rushed out of that, or we're making good decisions, then that has a tendency to affect everything else that we do.

With their size, we need to pressure the guards and get some transition points. Any slow-paced, half-court game is going to favor them. But we'll go with our usual stuff. We'll try to trap and fight through picks. This will be a tough game, but we've had our backs against the wall before.
