en He's by far the most valuable player of this team. We have a young end to our defense. He's a great role model for the guys. When he was called up, those two games he missed, it was a grind without him. He plays a lot of minutes and plays them to a 'T.' He's invaluable to this team.

en He had a lot of influence on me as a basketball player and as a young adult. He taught me about hard work, discipline and respect. He treated the best player on the team and the last player on the team equally, so I never got special treatment. Coach Tisdale was a great family man and that's one of the things I took from him. He touched a lot of lives, including mine.

en What makes me laugh is how people are saying he let his team down, ... How many times does a coach get rid of a player right before the season, and that player is left with nothing? Players want to know, How come you got rid of guys who could have helped us, over and over? That's letting your team down.

en Laura brings lots of experience as a National Pool ODP player that adds a tremendous bonus to our team. She is a strong technical player who reads the game very well. We feel very fortunate to have her as a part of our team.

en I told them just before we met that one of the reasons why I'm staying here is because of them. What a pleasure it is to coach young guys like this. I have a lot of friends in this business, and not all of them have a team like we have. The kind of young men that we have, that want to be coached, that want to grow up and that want to be held responsible.

en Dale is a great player. He is one of those guys that always makes plays. When we are in the film room, we are always watching him. Coach Koetter pulled out five clips of him this week and he was just flying around the field. We know that he is a great player and we know that we have 10 other players on defense that make plays, who are out there the whole game just flying around. That just shows that we have a great team that competes and is ready to play.

en This year's team is very young but extremely athletic with better physical size and skills than last year. Several freshmen will have to step up and start from day one. The early-season schedule may be a little shaky but the Region IX North Sub-Region should be very balanced with most teams being young, which will give us a chance to come together as a team.

en With a player who has had the career of Brett Favre, one of the greatest quarterbacks to play the game, I don't think you would ever sit him for a ball game, ... It's a long season and there are opportunities to put a young player in and still not sacrifice being efficient. As long as Rodgers is able to operate the offense, there are going to be opportunities down the road.
