The biggest thing with Tyrus may be his conditioning as opposed to his ankle by game time on Thursday. We might just have to play Tyrus in short stretches. As opposed to playing him 12 or 14 minutes straight, maybe he can just go five and we'll take him out, let him rest and put him back in. The more he plays, the better he'll feel and the more comfortable he'll feel. We'll make more of a determination of that as the week goes on.

That was the thing we were looking to do was give him the opportunity to get a nice time. I think the biggest thing is he knows he can still go faster ... and the nice thing about it is he ran it with fresh legs.

I think we should go into the tournament pretty healthy. My ankle is pretty much back to normal, and Tyrus should be back to normal once we get there. So I think we'll be all right. At times it's more frustrating than the ankle. The ankle was more serious and more time consuming. But when the ankle hurt, it hurt _ when I was playing, when I was walking, when I was laying in the bed and all the time. This is mysterious because it comes and goes. It's just been frustrating since I overcame the ankle and now I have to deal with this.

Tyrus Thomas really makes a difference around the goal. Every time he gets close to somebody, they think he's going to be there to block the shot it seems. So, Tyrus helps us around the goal.

We had planned to red-shirt Magnum. But when Tyrus got hurt (late in the season) we needed him. He is right now where Tyrus was at this time last season.

Conditioning is a big thing. We have this tendency to play 30 minutes of a 36 minute game. ... Half of it is conditioning, but then half of it is just the mental intensity to play the entire game.

There's still some question about his mobility. The thing about an ankle is you have to be concerned about how it feels the next day. We'll see how he does the rest of the week and make a decision come game time.

At the end of my second indoor season, my doctor told me, 'You're a bright guy, and you have an ankle that will keep deteriorating over time. We'll take away a lot of bone. My honest recommendation is that you move on,' ... At 23, that's a blow. He made the point, if you try to play on this ankle over time, we're going to keep taking away bone, and you're going to be a prime candidate for a replacement ankle at the age of 40.

She doesn't just rely on her athleticism now. That is the thing with very athletic players; they end up relying on it too much. She is using her brain with her off the ball runs and the position she gets herself into. Her reading of the game has come a very long way in a short space of time. Her goal against NC State typified that. She made the correct run at the correct time and used a different surface of her foot to score the goal. Those are the biggest improvements we have seen and tactically she is doing a very nice job now.
